Help on Summer setup Ruining Edges?

I have a pair of brand new k2 sights (because I busted my old volkls this past season). And as you probably know from the title of this thread, my metal rail that I use to practice on in the summer is bumping my edges a little. What can I do to prevent this from happening and/or prolong the life of my ski? Also, I haven't really detuned my underfoot edges so might that be doing something detrimental to my edges? One last thing, the rail also has some kinda black sh*t on it that's scraping off so how can I clean this rail?

I really appreciate all the answers! +K

I'd suggest getting another pair of skis if you have a summer setup. You'll be hitting that thing a lot, so I'd invest in a ~$100 used pair for the setup, and save your good skis for snow. About the rail, we'd need pics but is it just paint coming off...?

The only thing is that I'm way to broke to buy afford any other pair of skis so these are my only option

use those busted up volkls haha...

Would but they are literally broken lol

pics of broken skis and the summer setup are required and idunno, trashing brand new skis on a summer setup just doesn't seem like the greatest idea in the world lol.

For example... what happens if you break them seshing your summer setup, will you have enough to buy a new pair to ride the season out next year?

Invest in a pvc rail which is under like 40 bucks . And your skis will be just fine . Warm metal is sticky to slide and hard on them edges

Would defunding the edges and hitting the rail from time to time work? (I just don't want to lose the feel ya know)

not really, you can still really beat up your new skis

do what shin_bang said and get a pvc rail
