Hi! I'm a fairly experienced 15 year old skiier, who is going to Jasper, Canada

in April with my school. I want to do my first rail there, and I need some tips from you! Please help!

well you should probobly try one before you go. but make sure you pop of the jump turn 90 degrees and land with confidence , try to come of switch it will make you stay on longer to.

just get good speed approach the rail, pop off, turn ninety, stay low and in an athletic stance, keep your legs far apart and look to the end of the rail

Pick a rail that is less than crotch high from the ground for your first one. This is not just because of your jewels, but also its less distance to the ground!

Approach the rail with the rail between your legs. This is very important, I see so many people trying to get on rails approaching them from the side, this will NOT work.

Be sure that your speed is good to get both your skis onto the rail and off the other end. Remember the slower you go the longer you spend on the rail!

Hop off the jump or transition, turn 90 degrees, and land on the rail square with the rail directly under the center of your boot sole. KEEP YOUR HANDS UP IN FRONT OF YOU.

Focus on the end of the rail, this helps to keep your weight forward and keeps you from falling off the rail to the sides.

Try to ride off the rail, straighten your skis downhill and stomp it out. You just cleaned the rail, and you still got your jewels...

wen i first tryed a rail i fell backwards

dont try to slide onto it, you need to jump and turned and your prob. gunna fall

also you can try goin on with one foot and then halfway threw, turn your foot so you get the feeling of goin on it, but dont do this a lot cuz it looks gay

do boxes sideways and practice the jump and turn onto them, its the smae feeling

pop, THEN TURN 90,not ur head, look at the end of the rail cuz u go where u look, WIDE LEGS, flat skis, low stance.......the words of a freestyle instructor, THATS right im getting paid to ride park

snowplow into the jump. hit the kicker on one foot, turn exactly 54 degrees (you might want to bring a protractor to the hill) get on the rail, keeping your feet as close together as possible, lean back and throw yo hands up as high as yu can. get off the rail by truning forward. then dance in victory

I agree,in many cases you need to get on the side like when hitting urban rails or many parks set up rails where you have to get on the side know it is deffinetly do able peolpe do it every day, what is with the protractor?? 54degrees?? dont take that advice its the stupidest thing i have herd
