Help me to get my dog to stop biting

I recently got an english bulldog puppy. hes about 11 weeks old, hes awesome, cute, almost potty trained, but his only problem is that he bites so much. I understand that he is teething and sometimes being playful when he does it, but i dont think he knows that hes actually hurting people when he bites. Whenever he bites me i always give him a little flick on the nose and say "no", but all he does is just get angry and he tries to bite me more. Same thing goes for other people when they try to get him to stop biting.

Ive given him little pieces of ice to help with his teething, thinking that he might stop biting and bring down the pain a bit. He loves the ice, but if anything, he just starts biting more.

So, for all you dog owners, what do you think i should do?

You have to be very mean with the dog, especially him because of his breed.

Tell him no VERY sternly and a smack under the chin should work.

when he bites too hard, give him a good bite on the ear. he will pick up on it pretty quick that biting hurts. im serious thats how i teach my dogs.

haha eddie when the hell did u get a dog!? im gunna have to see him when im home from school, me and my girlfriend r getting a puggle on may 12th, but yeah, u gotta be mean with ur dog if he bites, my beagle used to bite me alot when he was a pup, and sorta still does now, just smack him on the nose and yell at him and shit, and make him try to lick u instead of bite

wrap your hand around the top of his nose to under his chin and hold his mouth shut, when he starts squirming keep holding it so he gets the point. Thats how dogs fight in the wild, biting the snout of another dog is like the ultimate domination for them

yelp kinda high pitched and turn your back. That way he knows his bites hurt, flicking his nose doesn't get the point across.

when dogs are playing and one bites to hard, the other yelps. This works but again takes time and consistancy.

are you serious? why are you asking ns? google is better than ns

anyway, the way i got my dog to stop was to give him a smack on the head, pretty hard and sternly say NO! then ignore him completely, dont even give eye contact, until he plays nice

squeeze his nose hard and say "No Bite!" Dogs generally learn from negative reinforcement. Or you could get him a shock collar and every time he bites, ZAP.

guys, i just tried using every method. all he does is get mad at me and bite me even harder. i dont want to try more because i dont want my dog to end up hating me.

word my dad has helped out with the k9 police. if a dog is like that. hold it down by its neck roll it over and hold it till it calms down. if the dog is still going nuts biting the ear i heard helps im not sure

you need to use ceasar millans special noise and then whack the shit outa the dog like he does. you just gotta get that noise down.

put hot sauce all over your arm. on a side note something fun to do with your dog is while hes sleeping smear peanut butter all over the inside of his mouth when he wakes up it will take him near 15 minutes of hilarity to lick it all off.

Completely dominate him. Eat before he does, go out the door before he does, shit before he does. Make him feel like he as at the bottom of the totem pole. If he bites, do the muzzle thing that was mentioned before, AND flip him on his back and talk/growl in a low, firm voice. Worked for my Jack Russel. He still attacks anyone that step in our yard or gets near his face. He's pretty damn protective.

dude, that nearly killed my sisters dog haha it was chewing their wooden window sills so they put hot sauce on then. guess the dog was allergic or something. it's face swelled up and it couldn't breathe. they had to rush it down to the emergency vet.

smacking on the chin / nose works. squirting them in the face from a water bottle works as well.

dude you gotta man up. don't be a pussy and say you don't want your dog to hate you. when it comes to being stern with your dog you gotta give it 100%. If you keep that train of thought up you'll feed it extra food when it gives you those pleading eyes and next thing you know you'll have a fat dog on your hands

kick the shit out of him.jk.
most puppies do that. my dog used to do it but he grew out of it after about 6 months
