hey ns, i wanna have a really good ski trip but i need ur help planning it.

A bit about me. Im currently a uni student in australia and ski in Australia at least ever week during our winter but i have 4 months off from the beginning of November till the end off February. I'm a pretty advanced skier. On my ski trip i want lots and lots of really deep powder. i also want access to steep terrain and good tree skiing, but i want sothing really good value.

Im happy to go to either USA or Canada or both.

When ever i go on trips i always like to avoid the touristy places. i like to go somewhere where i wont meet Aussie and that has character. Places a bit different.

I don't care about the night life or shops or anything like that. ill be there to ski :)

I do ski a bit of park but its not a focus and i'm pretty sure that anywhere will have better parks than Australia anyway.

Places i have thought of): Jackson Hole, Revelstoke, Atla, Brighton, Squaw Valley, Kicking Horse.

but please suggest other places you think i would enjoy including places i may not have heard of.

I'm not sure if i want to spend the entire time in 1 location or do like 4 days at many different mountain or maybe get a place that is driving distance to 5 or 6 mountains. maybe a month in USA and a month a in Canada. I am very open to suggestions and ideas.

so help me out. where do you think i should ski? ask more questions if there is anything i might have left out.

Im summary: where should i go skiing? places that are cool and not touristy, places with powder, trees and steeps

help will get +k

Whistler fo sho. I took an early season trip there last December and it was awesome. Great skiing, awesome little town with a lot of bars and restaurants, and also a ton of Aussies (at least while I was there.). I'm going again this year too.

Go to Revelstoke first. Beautiful town that doesn't get much for tourists during the winter. I believe there is a hotel right in the village, but there is a few chain hotels in the town as well. From Revelstoke it is really easy to make a day trip over to Kicking Horse as Golden is about 2 hours away (high mountain pass, so that could be longer). According to Google maps, Red Mountain is about a 6 hour drive from Revelstoke so you could stay there for a few nights and then cross the border right there and head down into Washington or where ever you feel like going.

I know a lot of Aussies work at Mammoth mountain every year. If you really want to get away to a quit awesome place go to Telluride Co.. So sick. I finally got to ski there a few years back and the place is amazing!!!

South West Colorado has the best skiing our state has to offer and has the least amount of tourist in comparison. Tellluride and Crested Butte are two great resorts with fun little towns to match. Not too far is Silverton, it has one chairlift that accesses advanced to expert level backcountry terrain. It has the best resort skiing in the state, a must do if your in South West CO and have solid skills in powder.

Revelstoke and kicking horse for sure. Not big tourist places since there aren't any major travel agency condos and the skiing is amazing. I can't wait to go back this winter

revelstoke, i would move there if wasnt an american ciitzen. I love breck summit county colorado for living but revelstoke - wow.
