Help me pimp my ride

Hey NS, so recently I inherited a 1994 Chevy lumina from my aunt. Now I know what you can be thinking- "why would you want to mod an old chevy grandma car?",and the reason is simple. First off, I am brand new to cars and I want something to work on when I'm bored and mess around with. Secondly, I want to see if it really is possible to turn your average grandma car into a car that turns some heads in the school parking lot. This is where you car guys/girls come in. Any suggestions or tutorials would be appreciated to make the car look better or go faster. I will post updates every few weeks on how the car is doing!

This is the car. I've done some painting to it and I plan on getting some new Hub caps and tinting the windows. For some reason it already looks tinted but its not.

First things first. Paint job with flames, then hydrolics on the front, and then a pimp stamp on the back windo that says "smoke weed erryday"

jk I know nothing about cars and how to make them cool

If you really want to impress people then leave the exterior as is and go for the things that really matter. Put a built 427 BBC in it, All the ignition should be MSD, big ass carburetor, Built tranny, 10.5 slicks, run nothing under 108 octane, and the fuel pump should be able to suck an elephant through it.

that will turn my head.

I would suggest saving your money, until you can buy a car thats actually worth putting a little extra into, but I think your reasoning is great, I love working on cars, I have a 1991 VW Jetta that I am working on and its great. If I were to suggest anything to turn heads that will be cheap is to debadge, get LEDs under the car (illegal in some places), hack off that muffler, plastidip the rims, grill etc, and Lambo Doors, I'm kidding don't get Lambo doors.

You could also watch some Might Car Mods videos they'll teach you what to do, they have a video called Budget Street Cred which is exactly what it seems you are looking for. Here is the Linky

but for real if you wanna get serious:

sticker bomb the rear window so everybody behind you knows how sick you are and what you're into

spray tint the head lights and tail lights to get that dope storm trooper look

plasti dip all the emblems black

get a dual straight pipe exhaust to get the ladies nice and wet when you roll by

body kit is a must.

2 12" subs and a 1200 watt amp so you can listen to rap music

50 inch curved light bar. good ones are cheap and fairly easy to install.

buy an aftermarket hood scoop for that tuner look you've always wanted

a turbo whistle should be the icing on the cake. gear heads from all over the block will be talking about the turbo'd lumina that drives past sometimes. do these things and you'll be the talk of the town my friend.

Each mod adds 5-25 horsepower.

He's going to need some down force to keep all the power on the ground.

oh for sure. but don't get a wooden one like the wing pictured above, that's a lot of unneeded weight. make sure its a carbon fiber GT wing. it's extremely functional and is light as a feather.

Light bar is a must for all the rallying and night-jumping.

In all seriousness though I would save up and not do things halfass. Whether you invest in some powertrain upgrades or just buy some new rims, the one thing you will probably never say is "dang I wish I bought cheaper and lower quality parts".

Haha I love that video

In my serious opinion Id say dont do things like cold air intakes, exhaust all that shit. Just keep it in good shape, make a ballin' interior, get a nice sound system. Keep the car running well, keep up with things like spark plugs and wires, gaskets, fluid changes, etc. Maybe sell it once you have some money and get something youd rather have.

I can see where youre coming from but thats not really what I'm going for. Honestly the sound setup is pretty dope I just installed a new kenwood stereo and kenwood speakers, the interior is in pretty prime shape, and as far as maintenance and fluids I've been keepin her in great shape

Ok thats good then, make it a fuckin sleeper, boost that shit.

Just get a real small steering wheel so you can drive with handcuffs. Kids in school will all be turning heads if they think you're out on the lam.
