Ok so, like the title says, im just getting to hardcore park skiing this year (its not rly my first pair, i can ski), and im super super new to all of this junk. ive been snooping around for a while trying to make sense of it all, with a little success. Ive been looking at what different companies have to offer too, and these seem to be what im looking for (as far as i can tell anyways)

invaders/anthems

silencers/fujatives

1080 thrusters

these are all keeping in mind that a have a pretty limited budget. im assuming of course that i can just use my existing bindings and boots(can i?). what are these choices like, and are there any others i should be considering, which im sure there are?

yea, for other info, im 6'1", 165lbs, and im on the east coast (that seems to be important-im not gonna lie, i dont know why)

thanks alot guys

These are secondhand im guessing? i dunno if i wanna buy used for my first set...i really dont know enough about it to make a solid choice, sorry dude.

id say fujatives because they are soft and forgiving perfect for park, but wide enough for the rest of the mountain.

dude your a douche and your bandwagon sucks balls. this is the kids first ski in a while i dont think hes going to be a shitload of jumpping for the first little while.

if your on the east coast and definitly want to ski park... go with armada pipe cleaners, but since you are on a tight budget you might want to ceck out some Lib Tech skis they have a riveted edge so it is better on icey conditions, since you live on the east coast.

line has the most delam edge issues out of any ski i think that the thrusters would be a little too skinny n i dk bout the scilencers id say go for the foils- they're a little wider so it be easier to stomp landings n they are super lite or try the public enemy there not that stiff n they're also wide plus they edge pretty well

wow great deal, i ski with wonton his skis quite literally look new. he never hits rails. hop on that deal...

I would personally reccomend K2 fujatives,Armada ar5, Volkl Karma/dogen, uhhh, Rossignol scratch fs, or rossignol scratch sprayer BC..all good choices, yo?

ok man, from someone who works in a shop, builds thier own skis, and has a DEEP understanding of the dynamics of skiing.

for one, thanks for doin some background research of your own, and giving the proper info needed to set ya straight. so many kids come on here and the post consist of "what ski should i buy?"

anyway, your tall, and a pretty medium build. the one thing to remeber with twins, isalways go at least head high, because you loose effective edge with the tip in back, and th shortert noses makes them ride shorter also. for you, you should not be on anything shorter than 180. im 510, 154lbs and on 185s.

if your on a budget, last years gear is the way to go. yu can pretty much get shit at cost. i wouldnt recomend anything too soft. while they are fun to play on, i find them not only unstable, but they are very difficult to jump with. something with a nice mid with waist, 80-90, is good, cause its much more stable landing jumps.

as for my reccomndations, lets see.

05-06 Line Chronic wide, 187 -nice mid flexed ski, very durable, and light.

04-05 Line Eric Pollard pro model, 186 very similar to ^, super sick graphics

05-06 Dynastar Troublemaker, 182. a lil narrower, this ski rocks. very unique flex, killer on jumps and pipe

05-06 Salomon Foil, 182 or whatever, sick ski from salomon (as much of a contradiction as that is), everything above mentioned about it is why. light, lively, turny, and fat.

Atomic Stomp- last year, 183. stiff ski, SUPER light, very durable. if you can handle the stiff flex, they are amazing. fat too 88 waist

i would reccomend the STLs in 183, as they ride awesome, but frnt is a wierd company, the skis fall aprat, and the warrenty is untolerable. the AR5 is also not on my recomended list. its fairly heavy, not poppy, and generally they just feel dead. some people will argue this with thier life, but they are just not an impressive ski.

your better off goin old than new, as youll get wy nicer gear. if you DO wanna get this years stuff, go or it, but be prepaired to get lower end skis. it isnt weorth it.

also, jump on ebay, and buy a pair of Look/Rossi Pivot 12 bindings. (NOT THE PX SERIES!!!!) they are amazing, i dont even need to get into it. just realize that this binding blows the pants off all other stanodard, non race bindings, and it will make your life easier. if they have risers, do not mount them with the risers. also, my rec. i to get them mounted 2 cm back from true center (so if its a 180 ski, the midsole would be 92cm bck from the tip). i have found this position works the best on MOST skis. any other Qs feel free to ask.

Don't go the 06 invaders! delam issues to the max!

they ARE a fun ski but if you dont have a big quiver for other days its a waste of cash! they are not versitile at all.

i have a 171 invader, a 179 PE and a 189 SV, and for that reason i like my invaders when i want to hit urban rails and land on roads etc, but as an everyday skiier they SUCK!

they don't carve, only butter, are WAY soft and won't last.

get a $250 Public Enemy from MattMcGinnis
