Help me out with bindings (jesters or griffons)

your gonna have to tell us how you ski what you ski and what level of skiing you are.

for some one 150 pounds that charges really hard id say jesters, if not charging super hard id go griffons

this^^^ you would probably be okay with the griffons but if you are young and gunna grow a bunch then jesters will last longer for you.

im same weight and got some griffons and love em u wont be dissapointed if you want to go the cheaper route instead of jesters

Very few people actually need a 16 DIN binding. 150 lbs., even a type III skier, I'd say Griffons. Don't fall for the claims that they fall apart or aren't durable. They're one of the nicest, most durable bindings I've ever owned.

every K2 and Volkl flat ski is demo'ed in the industry with a Marker Jester or Griffon on it. These skis get tested by shop employees, who most of the time are pretty ridiculous skiers. I know that Marker is associated with these companies so thats why its the Jester on there, but the amount of stress put on these bindings from some top skiers run after run at demos....these things are tested pretty true. And since the Jester and Griffon came out, not one warranty has come through my shop, and we sell on average about 150 pairs of Griffons a year.
For your age, the Griffon is a very solid binding. going above 12 DIN would be if you are hucking cliffs and absolutely need to stay in your binding, in which case you will change the DIN on your own and throw out any responsibility from the binding company in the event of an injury. If you leave your DIN set properly by your shop, your DIN wont go past an 8 at your age. The lighter weight binding will give you an overall lighter ski....easier for you for spins and airs...
Solid binding. highly recommended.
Try to avoid a lot of the young hype on NS of people bashing ski brands, im sure half the time its kids just mad they couldn't get a pair for themselves.

lolz.we bash on Griffons because they're not a nice binding. anything where the majority of the toe and heel piece are made of plastic is not something I want to purchase.and I currently have one pair of Jesters, just sold another pair and previously had another pair that i sold as well, so I'd like to think that I know what I'm talking about at least a slight bit.

Im 160 lbs type III and the Jesters are great. Im pretty harsh on my gear and i havent had any problems with them after 30 days of riding them.

im not saying the Griffons are as solid as the Jesters, but for a "plastic" binding, the Griffon is pretty legit.
Jester is an awesome upgrade, but if cost comes down to it, and user level, the Griffon is pretty solid.

the only real problem i have for the Griffons is they are advertised to the entire freestyle market as a great binding choice for them, regardless of weight or skier ability. but the problem is they suit the needs of only probably around 40% of the skiers on here. either because they're too heavy, treat their gear shitty, or just plain ski too hard.
like i said, i have had several pairs of Jesters. loved them all. never had a problem.but a friend of mine who i ski with reguarly has Griffons and has had nothign but problems.
Examples:
-Heal piece just randomly slides out of track.-Broken brakes. (plastic park, not the metal arms.)-Bending of toe piece.-Almost slicing completely through the plastic side of the heal piece.

if i were you OP, i would just shell out a little extra dough now and get the Jesters. think about it, one pair of Jesters costs less than two or more pairs of Griffons....

I have Jesters (08-09) and sth 16 (08-09) and i have to say i prefer sth over jester. Can´t say way really but its a better feeling, somehow more stable. So i you are considering Sth 16 go for it!
