I'm doing a debate on why skiers are better than snowboarders for school. This is gonna be in front of alot of boarders who are doing why boarding kicks skiings ass. if anyone can give me some info on who, where and when people dropped the biggest cliff, longest rail, longest air, biggest spin ect. that would be rad. POST!!

 
Well, you should mention that huge d-spin 900 candide threw on chads gap. Don't know what year it was though. Even add that huge gap to rail candide did at superpark.

^ he never threw a d 9 over chads, he did throw a 7, and it was in TGR's Further, whatever year that was... definatley point out the Cork 810 to rail which was at superpark last spring at timberline... play the winning X games pipe runs for the last two years, pointing that in both years skiers were consistently boosting higher that snowboarders that was at Aspen.... also play the best segments from this years movies Travis's in High 5... and TJ's in X... but why are you and snowboarders getting in fights... snowboarding is sick too...

dude i hate to break it to you, but why the hell are you doing a paper on why skiers rule? We have tried for years to get along with snowboarders and even some of the people i ride with most are snowboarders. WE ALL RULE BECAUSE WE ALL RIDE! This sounds like a 7th grade debate paper, so if your older then that pic a better topic! Stupid!

i am doing this report not to show hate for snowboarders but because a bunch of my friends decided to do 'why snowboarding is better than skiing' and we were all laughing about it so I decided to do the same thing right back and prove them wrong. I'm down with boarding. ^^ (thanks for posting)

 
well candide did a double backflip over chads, if you think thats cool

we are a smaller growing sport, and we do not have fat gothic chicks doing it thinking its cool because they played ssx tricky

we can do spread eagles and they cannot

cr still holds the world record for biggest spin with 1440. that was way back in the day though. wilson tried a 180 foot gap but missed, but i dont see any snowboarders trying that. crighton is throwing some pretty cool switch 10's and dumont is boosting higher than any snowboarder i've seen. pretty much, as long as you put time into your argument, there is no way that snowboarders will be able to beat you in a debate.

The max amp ever for boarders in a halfpipe is around 13 ft where as skiers have gone around 22ft.

Skiers has travelled longer along the pipe than boarders too. I think jon has the record with 33 feet.

 
throw in a little Hugo and Seth for good measure. Seems like non-skier/snowboarder types relate to big mountain more than jibbing

Fuck it--Show em McGovern's cliff drop in SM3. Show em Hugo's section in Yearbook. I see no boarders approaching his speed on the mountain.

This isn't really a debate but more of a classic scenario--the true vs. the masses. In other words, the only reason you have to defend yourself is because you're outnumbered by the knuckledraggers. Pack mentality and ignorance don't mix.

 
problem is, snowboarders own us on rails, mostly urban. watch any movie and you'l see. skiers are closing the gap with the likes of charles gagnier, iannick b, and dave crichton, but still, they own us on rails.

we have them on jumps and on straight up big mountain skiing. freestyle big mountain? no, although seth comes close; but you see snowboarders throwing switch corks and suck in bc lines, and skiers arent there yet either.

so it all depends on which discipline of each sport is shown. i'd say show crichton's forward segment, and hugo's focused segment...

I think you should write a paper that skiers dont realy care if they are better then snowborders... we all do it cuz we love it on skis or snowboards... we all get the same thing out of it... if its on a ski or snowboard if its baggy clothes or not if its park or big mountain it dont matter we do it cuz we all appriciate it and it compliments us... we all need to realize every year skiing or snowboarding, we progress both worlds we all push each other 2 a new level its amazing... so there is not better or worss.... we as skiers and snowboarders build both sports togather as one....

 
^ Well put. People need to stop comparing skiing and snowboarding. Were all doing the same shit its just that snowboarders go sideways instead of forwards. It doesn't matter which sport you do as long as you have fun doing it.
