ok, bro

i need help bro.

ok seriously, just out of curiosity, what is the name of the program for college i wuold want to get into if i want to run a ski shop. i am trying to look for colleges and stuff but i dont know what im looking for.

also, is it hard to get into? i have about a 70 average.

thanks guys, im gunna keep this thread running since i will likely have more questions, and i cant really ask my dad for advice because he will be pissed im only going to college.

here is another question. can i take a business course as well as a photography course? i dont know how the whole thing works. im going to try and talk to a guidance counceller.

does anyone have any good business colleges or uni's that i can take either in ontario or bc/alberta?

ya dude that's what free electives are for, so you can take some fun classes or something that interests you outside your major.

i dont really know about photography courses, but i'm gonna say this as i was told from this hot chick that took my grad photo, a great photographer isnt made, thier born... i thought she was hot so i took the advice to heard, but some thigns you need to know are all able to me learned from books(like where the main focus should be, so on and so forth) but from what i have found is that the more pictures you take the better you will get.. if you want an idea of how a person can grow from being a simple photo enthusiest(SP) to moderate... and business classes i cant really answer that question, but one thing i do know is that i think i'm gonna take one too.. not sure where tho, i just know not in my town.

i am already a half decent photographer with a fair bit of prior knowledge. so that wont be a problem...but i am glad you found a hot chick...

If you want to get your own ski shop running, that's awesome. Go for it. I've been getting bombed with what I want to do with my life for the last lil while. I thought I knew. But I don't anymore. I don't KNOW life. I haven't faced life yet. I do know that I want to ski for as long as I'm able to. But this isn't helping you..

Ok, bro.

Bro, you need to have lots of money to start a ski shop, doesnt really matter what your degree is in in my opinion, bro. You are going to need lots of money for overhead, bro.

Get into a "ski area management" program and branch out with several business classes. Then you'll understand the industry you're working in better and also have the skills, (and I'm guessing) the desire to run a really good core shop.

It's gonna cost you a lot of time and money to get established too, so knowing some people who can work for/with you is a must.

yeah i understand that. i was thinkin i could maybe pull myself the title of "equipment tester" or something. and just so you know, i have known i would do this since i was about 11, and nothing is going to stop me.

i realize i dont need a degree to do it, but college just looks like so much fun!
