K, so our school has a race team and iv been on it. but i dont really wanna have to train gaits while theres a fresh park under the lights. tomorrow i have a meeting with our athletic director to get a freestyle/ snoboardiing club approved. Any tips to help get it passed? +K for help

Dress nicely. Don't look like an ignant park rat.

Speak clearly, and properly. Not "dude", "bro", and definitely don't swear.

Do talk about how more and more people are getting into park, and it is bringing more people into skiing.

Do talk about the benefits of having a structured program.

facts! most athletic directors want it to be profitable and not just make a program and have no one join so just give a lot of legit convincing facts to help persuade him/her into approving it

ps good luck man! i wish my school would be able to do this, except we would only have like 5 kids join

talk about competitve stuff aswell liek he said with halfpipe and slopestyle how there is competitng in it and you should talk about MOGULS cuz theyre is no progression there so he might be like hmmm well i guess its like the old moguls sport i saw on tv

like with most school sponsored activities you will need a coach, leader, chaperone. it would be a good idea to have someone lined up. also it would be good to include snowboarders as well. this will make it easier to get enough people to have a "club". let the administrator know that you are willing to do the leg work to get the club up and running. it will look good on a college app/ resume. good luck bro

yah the meeting went really well. looks like we might have a 12 kid club (so we dont rob all the kids from race team hahah) for juniors and seniors only. just have to write up a final proposal and talk to one more guy. im pretty pumped

this was me and the thread creators idea together. he got it passed. Im hoping to get it started up at my school. any more suggestions

I started one this year at my school and I live in Omaha, Nebraska. There's one other freeskier and like 8 snowboarders and a few just regular skiers
