over the last few days xbox live has become so laggy that i cant even play. before this it was fine, but now its unbearable to play online. ive tried restarting the router, that didnt work. i get full signal here with my laptop, and it usually will jump around between 1 and 3 bars when im playing xbox live. does anyone know anything that will help

Its probably your connection, that's what my problem was. Move your 360 close enough to hook it up with the ethernet and see if it changes at all.

rents wont let me run an ethernet cord through the kitchen, so thats not an option. and i know it will work where it is because it has in the past

I'm saying do it temporarily to see if it changes the quality of the connection, and if it doesn't then its the ISP. But if it does than its the wireless that's the problem.

make sure nothing is downloading on your computer or your not streaming videos. also make sure your neighbours arnt stealing your internet.

is your router secured? If not someone could be stealing your signal which would slow down your interwebzz.

hahhaha
the classic blow on the game cartridge if the game isnt working.if that doesnt work your gameboy has aids

MW2 has the WORST matchmaking I have ever dealt with. 9/10 times when I am having connection issues it is the matchmaking process that is at fault. For some reason you'll have a lobby with 12 people in it, 11 from the US and one from Sweden, and MW2 will pick the Swedish dude for the host.
Now go figure that out. I was having this issue and talked to someone who works for IW and they pondered a guess that the matchmaking system in MW2 tries to spread out the lag evenly among all players instead of just having a few who are lagging while others are fine. While this is a great concept in THEORY, picking Swedish hosts is not practical when everyone else is across the pond.
