Help me find a paintball gun

hi a bunch of my friends and neighbors have really gotten into paintball and ive been think about picking up one. Im looking for a pretty cheap entry level gun dont really need anything fancy, ive been looking into the tippmann gryphon anyone know if thats a good one or do you have any suggestions

 
Dont buy one yet. Borrow or rent for the next 5 or so times you play. If you're still interested then, look at Tippmann or Spyder like the other people said.
 
i have a spyder something or other, somewhat inexpensive and still good to go on the rare occasion i play
 
buy my proto pm6...got it just at th eend of my paintball fad. Under 20 days on it $600 new. Pristine condition its blue. Ill sell it for 375$ .
 
Honestly, don't get a Spyder. yea they are cheap and look appealing, but they are extremely unreliable. My first gun was a spyder and it was terrible, worked for maybe 2 days. I read lots of reviews and needed a cheap gun and got the dynasty ion, which i still use 2 yrs later. my brother and dad both have tippmans 98 and the a5, which works great for woodsball, not so great for speedball. my friend has the g3 and likes it, i also heard good things about the invert mini , but its really what kind of paintball you'll be playing. check out pbreview.com for reviews and pbnation.com for advice and a paintball B/S/T (which is where i get most of my stuff). During my paintball fad, Ions were the shit.
Last time I went anywhere around a paintball field, the mini invert seemed to be the gun that everyone rocked. But that's coming from someone who hasn't played for like 3 years.
 
hey man check out pbnation, its a pb forum, i've owned like over 10 guns from tippmans to origin ego's, bob long vice, so yea i know a little bit about pb, if your looking into a entry gun look into smart parts ions, they are great beginner guns, they are electronic and can be modded to keep up with mid level guns so my advice is look for a ion, you could pick one up for like 150 and if you get into pb and are looking for a high end gun look into the vice you could pick one up for like 450, its a really good gun, shoots ropes But yea hope this helps if you have any questions pm me i got 4 years of pb experience 2 in competitive play.
 
well that would hurt but paintballs can't freeze, there shells just become more brittle and they chop a lot more
 
Ohh alright. I've played in cold weather and they hurt a lot more I thought. Not because they were frozen though I guess.

Anyways regarding the actual thread, I love my Tippman 98 custom.
 
it hurts cause your cold, listen im not trying to be a dick but its not possible, make a video and show me you hitting a "frozen paintball" with a hammer or something and i wanna see the ice inside. Paintballs are made of mostly vegetable oil but you can try freezing them and try and prove me wrong

Yes I'm sure it does hurt more because you are cold. I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself right. I completely believe you that they are unable to freeze. I'd like to try it to see but I doubt it would. Again sorry, I honestly don't like any conflict, and I do believe you.
 
Alright I'm sorry sir. I was wrong. I know I was wrong and I admit to being wrong, you cannot freeze paintballs unless you put them in liquid nitrogen. Im sorry for stating incorrect facts or implying that there is a possibility that paintballs can be frozen.
 
Tippmann 98 custom. I bought mine back when they were made of all metal. Otherwise if you're willing to drop a bit more get an A5 or an X7. They're durable as hell.
If you want to get super into speed ball then guns will get really expensive
