Help me fight a ticket

So i was playing in our homecoming football game yesterday. i parked my car in a spot where people ALWAYS park. the parking lot was absolutely packed and there weren't any spots.

so i left my car, and during the game, i heard them announce "if you are parked in a firezone, you have 10 minutes to move your car."

of course i couldnt, i was in the game, and i didnt even know if it was a fire zone.

well i get back, and there is a ticket for $50 on my window.

well im a volunteer fireman, and so i get an alarm today that was right down the street from me. i walked over to check it out, and my cheif and the cop that wrote me a ticket were there.

i mentioned to the cop that i was pretty sure he wrote me a ticket yesterday.

well this cops a huge dick, as i've been told, and as i found out.

he went off on me about parking in a fire zone, especially as a firefighter. he was telling me i should fight the ticket so he can embarrass me in court.

well this cops a cock. i want nothing more than to beat him in court.

here are the facts.

he said he gave me the ticket, but it is definitely not his signature on the ticket.

there are other fire zones at school that are marked in yellow with lines through it that say "fire zone", but this area ONLY had a yellow curb.

what makes it a legal fire zone? i feel like i can get them here, cuz there was nothing but yellow curb to mark it
 
fight it. but ask a lawyer for advice. they'll be able to give you better insight to the problem. it may be expensive to do that, but if you have a lawyer that's a family friend then you should be set.
 
I'm pretty sure thatyellow curb = no parking everred curb = no stopping everthey don't have to write out that it specifically is a fire zone
 
yellow curb might be enough, it depends on local laws. In most places however, handicapped spaces are only valid if they are painted and they have a sign directly above/in front of the spot, so there might be a similar law for you. hope it works out man, that guy sounds like a douche, we have one in the next town over whos like that. He sometimes goes into parking lots and gives people outrageous speeding tickets, because 15 in a 10 is 150% or some gay shit like that
 
yellow curb is not a fire ticket. ... i say fight it and if you have to pay for it... 50 bucks in nickels... thats how i pay my parking tickets. a shitton of nickels
 
yeah i knew that law like a handicap spot needs to be posted like atleast 3 feet high or something, i figured there was something for fire zones too.

and my dad is a lawyer, maybe he knows.

and the cop is a huge cock, that is why im fighting it
 
dude. just pay the $50 and let it go... is it really that big of a deal that you want to spend a whole bunch more time and money in court/lawyer/etc just for this?
 
You'll never win fighting a ticket. Even if you got pulled over for nothing and the cop says you ran a stop sign were speeding and had drugs on you, you won't win.

If you want to get a posse together and fuck people up I'm down
 
i would definitely fight this. fuck cops. how did you manage to not get a spot if your on the football team? does your football team arrive after the crowd shows up or something?
 
yellow zone usually means no parking or no stopping. And even if it was taxi zone (not finding that anywhere) unless you were operating a taxi service, you're still at fault. I see absolutely no reason why it would be a taxi zone at a school though.

and i know you're probably doing it for your own satisfaction, but do you think the cop really cares? Even if you beat him he's not going to care, and if anything, you better hope your car is in perfect running order and you aren't going even a mile an hour over the limit should you come across him again. That is, if he takes it personally for some reason.
 
this is a good point

sometimes you gotta look at it. I'm all for stand up for what you believe in, but at some point you gotta look at what the outcome is gonna be. If you piss him off and win, you will prbly get stopped/searched/fucked with every week until you make one little mistake

so, i want to beat him. im not scared of getting pulled over or anything, i mean its one cop, its not like he can really target me that easily.... its not like people know all the local cops and shit

i just need to New york state fire zone regulations to see if i can fight it.

but idk if id bother fighting it. the cop is obviously a douche and is gonna come straight at you in court, so unless he's overly zealous about it and gets called on it he's probably going to win. i know it sucks to let such a little cock win even 50 bucks but sometimes you gotta pick your battles man. shoulda told the cop great you cost me 50 bucks, sick life dude, and been done with it
 
take a picture of where you park maybe. or just go to court and tell the judge/prosecutor. you really can't do anything except show up.

all over my school, there are signs posted saying "no parking, fire zone"

some of these places have yellows curbs, some dont.

this place has only a yellow curb, and absolutely no signage what so ever. its not a legal fire zone and therefore the ticket is invalid
 
I'm guessing since you ski which is usually a sport that requires some wealth from the family. Ask the family lawyer. I know you can beat it.
 
I live in Wingdale but I went to JFK. Pretty sure weve had this conversation before. I dont know where you were but Somers cops literally have nothing better to do then get you for petty things like my plate light not working.
