Help me decide what to do with my car

try 177 hp smart guy
gli was new trim, 6 speed and thats about it
and if you actually read what the guy has he has a t3/t4 turbo- ie the one for 20v big turbo kits you buy for your gli- so id guess with mild boost hes pushing well over 265 at the wheels and would kick the shit out of your stock gli

 
oh im sooo sorry to forget that some retards chose a heavier motor in the same body only to achieve an extra 20 hp - and what do you mean luxury rocket- it has fucking cloth recaros and plastic trim for everything- get bent

you came out claiming that your gli would kill most civics- no shit- but the guy you were quoting has a car that would shit on yours all day- not to mention you drove a stock gli- monster truck status and everything- I could see if you had gotten a vr and then changed up the exhaust, cams etc to actually get what you paid for in a vr- but no- you drove around with it stock and then try to hate on other peoples cars

I don't understand why people care so much about what other people drive or do to their own cars. The only think that really bugs me is super loud exhaust, because it hurts my ears when they drive by hitting the rev limiter between each shift.
 
turboing a jetta is fucking stupid, get a GTI and turbo that. I have a r32 now and it will DESTROY any other stock VW. It is stock as can be except for tint and a roof rack for when i head to the mountain.

My civic that i had in high school when it was kind of the trend was pushing 360 TO THE WHEELS....did you know there's a difference between HP at the wheel and HP at the fly wheel? The VW GLI put about 145 to the wheel...and it had a nice snappy throttle and torque to let it accelerate faster than a civic. get learned.

unfortunately shes gone now- sold/parted out for around 28k 2 weeks ago- now I have mk1 16v project on bags and school payments thanks to the sale

hahahahaha- nice try- the owner of said shop is my neighbor- I work pt there and receive at cost for everything- I bought the car for 8k as a salvage with money I had saved up from working at a car wash since I was 14- and proceeded to fix/work on the car to the point you see today- I have a job driving a forklift at 13 an hr for an average of 50 hrs a week all summer- and when I go back to school I work for a high end home theater store/contractor and make commission on all of my sales- Mommy and daddy pay for half of my education- leaving me to cover the rest
they did however buy me my sisters car as a daily driver- a 2000 hyundai accent gl which holds the record on our dyno for lowest whp ever achieved- 73
and let me guess- you bought a gli with your own money?

get darker tint than 15 if you can, like 5 in the back and 15 (or 5) in the front. buddy has 5 all around and 50 on the windshield and it looks great

All really depends on budget. I would do this in this order

I would suggest looking into some good civic forums to see what most people do for their beginning mod stage.

Because they're cheap as shit, and the demand for them is so high because they are cheap daily drivers. thus when the demand is high there are alot of modifications/parts you can add to your Veehikle.
 
j swaps are the new shit for newer civics 3.3 n/a with headers and a coldair(proper cold air not a warm air that sits on the valve cover) push 250 to the front. pretty nice

just gonna say it, her shitty civic as you seem to think it is, would probably beat your car from a dig or roll, they are about 200 whp stock with a lsd and 6 speed if i had to take one or the other id def go civic.

and to end on a constructive note.
i would tint it, that will help the look a lot. don't do too dark, imo 35% front and 15% rear is ideal. it isn't dark enough to attract popo attention, you can still back out of driveways and such, you can see out the side when turning at night, but it still looks great.
it's sick that a girl wants to do stuff to her car, if that's actually what you are....
 
lol at you guys arguing about shitty cars, both of you should first learn to drive, buy a miata, acquire some skill with it, then forget about shitty civic's/jetta's with giant turbo's people like that use power to take place of skill, while real drivers dont give a shit.

this thread didn't die at all...funny reading comments of people getting more offensive with me and other members. to answer a few select questions : i'm paying off this car monthly so a big fuck you to whoever said my mommy and daddy pays for this. as for money...people do, unless you guys are still in like middle school or something. This project of mine isn't instant i will most likely only fix one thing a year...unless its interior lights or something cheap etc.( whoever said i was doing exterior...well that's just illegal? so no.) so lets keep the hate going it's fairly entertaining.

oh who ever said get a miata? just...no. my friend has one and its the ugliest thing i've seen in my entire life i've only seen old men and old ladys drive it around where i live (minus my guy friend). i rather get a RX-8 or something if i'm going mazda.

i drive an 07 civic and i dont think its a car that should be upgraded at all. they just look gay when people do that. trade it in, im sure you could get some decent cash and then buy a new car

also i agree e85 is the shit, my buddy and i finished building his summit with a 4g swap, hx40, twin 255, 1000's, and dsm link, everything else was pretty budget built, forgot what the tranny had, i forgot what it got tuned at but im pretty sure it was 450 to the wheels. but for cheap you freighttrain everything on the highway. its being rebuilt now, but done right. blew the headgasket at the track haha (stock motor)
 
and what are those video's supposed to prove? and evo on a dyno and a fly by, is that supposed to be impressive? ive seen alot more impressive stuff come from a 2000 dollar track car and a good driver.
