Help killington season pass holders!

killington for the first time since i can remember has announced that there will be no end of the season terrain park for the last 4 WEEKS of the season, pretty amazing right? not even a few rails on the side of the trail, nothing, no effort made! for what reason? not enough snow... but enough to push back the closing date two weeks a few days before they announce the demise of the park... weird. so what can you do? help the season pass holders get their moneys worth and keep a corporate administration from pushing around their locals by calling and complaining about how they are neglecting a large part of their skiing community!

yeah i heard about those "reasons", i heard rosey and corey were at some feature building clinic but they don't really need them, i mean what is so hard about setting up a few rails on rime or reason, look at the opening day park, 2 features on rime (just another place they blew it this season) god knows they don't need a cat for anything becides dragging the rails over there.there are alot of things they could do. the thing that pisses me off the most is them just not even making an effort. i mean one box in the parking lot would be something but them just giving up on the whole terrain park for the last month of the season? that is just unacceptable. if i was going to be here next season i would take my money to okemo, same distance, but the pass is 30 bones cheaper and i can ride stratton with it... ohh yeah and i'll have a park the whole season.

I completey agree with everything that was said. I've had a season pass to killington 5 years in a row now....I will not be buying one next year. They could not have made it more obvious, through their disregard for customer satifaction, that once your pass has been paid for they could give two shits about you. With almost every other mountain in southern VT stepping up the level of construciton and creativity in their parks, Killington has failed to maintain even the level they had last year. pretty piss poor if you ask me. welp killington can fuck off, I'm moving out west too, and may god have mercy on their shitty rotten souls.

Wow that's ridiculous. And just a few years ago, killy's park was rated among the top in the east. Guess it must be the MS competition, but also bad new admin. What ever happened to the season-pass-for-life debate? Any news on that? And how the hell can the mountain still be operational with such bad customer satisfaction?

you know that was really well put and pretty aggressive but there is not one letter of exaduration in that little rant, all truth. and i'm one of the ones whose money they have. i think it's only fair to let everyone know next fall on my campus what happened this spring an really the whole winter. i mean it would be slander if it wern't true but seriously it's all totaly true.

as far as the customer satisfaction goes, it's pretty much don't ask don't tell. if you are skiing in their terrain park, they are convinced they are doing something right.
another prime example: spring loaded cource, 4 features-two are pretty much the same down rail. while in upper dream maker all the rails included down rail into down rail into flat rail which is the same as the first down rail just not down... with so much variety i can't understand how someone could not be satisfied!

that's bullshit that there will be no park... they could easily put something small up on rime or reason for a few weeks. I understand if they don't have one when it is just superstar left open, but their is still a lot or terrain open... (then again they could easily throw some rails up in middle superstar where it is super wide and not too steep)

lets not get distracted, if enough people call they hopfully will open something, they can't just neglect people leaving countless messages and clogging up their phones. i've already called twice today and left nice messages, but the more there are the better!
even if you don't ride killington just help us for less than 5 minutes and just call 802 422 3333 just tell them you want to express your feelings it doesn't matter how long you talk to them for, just that you call, because to them each call is another person whose is pissed, if you talk to them for a while they think it is just one pissed of kid who just wants someone to listen to them

I lost my pass in Feb. for ducking a rope. I skied this past weekend and saw a park with NO variety in it. The first two boxes were IDENTICAL to each other.

They clearly do not care one bit about park riding. To them I bet it is too much overhead and they don't see a return on investment. They are bigtime penny-pinchers.

if enough people call they will put something up, i don't doubt it will have to be a shit load of people but if enough people call they will put something up

i was down in killington over spring break and i also noticed a decline of park features from past seasonsfirst day they had like a rainbow and a few flats, but by the end of the week there where no rails open at all on the whole mountain (except for the stash ... ) they even closed the hike park for no apparent reason.
and i agree this is rediculous ... you should figure out what percent of the open days this season youll miss because of lack of park features and then multiply that by the cost of the season ticket and demand that amount back.

its not that kills park was bad... it was boring hitting the same park every single weekend didnt change anythng around at all i dont think

i would almost feel bad about the hate that is going on here but it isn't hate. i think anyone who reads this thread or even visits this website should be entitled to know that killington is arguably the shittyest big mountain on the east, if your aim is to ride park and you have money to wipe your ass with hit up killy.

i personally will make sure (even though i am graduating in a month and a half) that everyone at my school gets a pass to okemo (30 bones cheaper and you get two mountains that are both light years beyond killy, also the same distance). it's just a corportation run out west that doesn't give a shit about anything but money,

they can argue cost effectiveness all they want but when they similtaneously terminate terrain park riding and push back the closing date, things begin to make a ton of sence... and like i said before they could put up a box in the parking lot and it would be something but they just assume get rid of it, which just further proves that they don't give a shit.

this is just the end of the season disgust too, i've said enough. just ask anyone else about it or just read above hom how they built and maintained the park this year. same 10 jibs, no jump bigger than 30 feet, and a park crew that seems to think their job is to test the jumps and rails ever run dispite the condition.

I understand that killy is bad, but Okemo? sorry, maybe if you're doing 100 % park, but even there, the park lift gets the worst lines on the mountain and the thing is long and kind of steep for a park run. Okemo's innumerable groomers are indistinguishable and for the most part, flat. Killingtons steeps and glades are far superior. And that jackson gore peak is a gimmick for condos and more identical terrain. sorry for the hatin', I only skied there one day, but was not impressed.

Also, its really weird with all the hype (aimed at the boarders?) I saw about the stash, that the park still sucks. The pictures looked pretty good, but apparently maintenace was bad.

Your end of season park budget was spent on a 3:1 security guard to guest ratio at Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge. I would include the Police in that ratio but they don't count since the mountain doesn't write them a check.

They treated everyone that showed up like they were raging drunk driving idiots.

the only fun part of the killi park was the all natural one, stash or whatever. i visited for a few days, and even that got boring after a few runs

wha-wha-whaaaat? You liked the stash? That thing is a deathtrap. I mean, i like the idea, and i think it has potential for snowboarders, but it's just not skiing friendly at all. Me and my friend had to do a shoot in there and it was for the most part terrifying.

you know why?those gaper ass new jersey-ites could give two shits about whether or not killy has a real park or not. as long as they have enough snow on the greens they're fine.

haha man so true ... first run i hit that cement rail at like full speed and i had too take off my skis to make sure i still had edges.

theyre completely failing as a company. cutting people, benefits of emplyees that have been there for decades, lowering salaries, and jacking up ticket prices. grooming is cut back, less people are working and they have to get the same amount of shit done. when that happens, the employees do a mediocre job quickly so they can get more things done. if they would just keep their employees, the jobs could be done slower with a higher quality. soon nobody is going to want to go there except the out of staters that havent realized they could go to a better mountain for less money if they just drove a little longer. killington is just plain rediculous.

That is incredible. On one hand I don't believe it, but on the other, I actually can see the President of K doing that.

i'm confused is the moderator of that site saying he is just not going to show the complaints to his boss (the president)? because that is absurd, the bear mountain mogul challenge was pretty embarassing there were alot of those rent-a-cops there, but i don't get why... it's not like i've ever seen an influx of people smoking weed, drinking, and/or fighting in the parking lot for that event. that was an interesting comment about the local business on the mountain being affected by no park, BMMC shit show, them closing everything but superstar, generally being a shitty mountain with a joke of an administration.

Off Topic Bump

i was at killy on saturday with chapz and as i was getting something out of my pocket in line for the gondola i was asked the NS greeting (Chad's Gap from Alta) and the dude asked me if i won freecandy because i had the solly icons he was with two other dudes one guy in G-Suit pants

Who were you guys?

this blows..okemo is closed now, and i have a killington pass but not having a park sucks for sure..i was looking forward to hitting some rails at least..

i wasn't there at that moment but if the guy with gsuit pants had a black shirt then it was TWA

3rd year i stoped riding park and just skied woods, made the place alot of fun. Killy park is fun but you cant ride it all the time or you will hate it.

Typical Killington fashion. Piss everyone off and then reverse the decision AFTER everyone hates you.

I did not ski park much this year and had a blast around the rest of the mountain.
