I find this thread extremely amusing.
as far as I can remember at my school there were lots of anime/magic/yugi-o kids, Nerds- turned- just- plain- smart- kids -that -aren't -really that nerdy, artsy/indie types, metalheads, extremely smart girls that pretty much seem to live to study and get massive scholarships, I don't know about hicks which means I probably was one, Smokers, druggies/overall sketchy characters, townies(preps?), football players(I think they could fall under the 'bro' category), motorheads, really athletic girls
thats all I can think of at the moment.

i just scaned thru the thread.. but how about the car kids that is all they talk about and drive realy shitty cars and think they are bad ass haha
 
scene kids.....aka the kids that do whats everyone else is doing (not to be confused with jocks) its kinda like a "trend whore"
 
hood river is basically falls into the categories of hick or mexican or kids who aren't either.

then a variation of each.

LIKE:

preppy mexicans, hick mexicans, mexicans who just play soccer, the chill mexicans and the fat and lazy mexicans. oh and the ones who have no clue what english is, but they're chill tho.

then theres the hicks, car shop/farm animal hicks (we bassically have a full autobody shop at our school), hicks who play football (way into it) hicks who are pussies but think they're really tough and badass.

then theres a little skater clique, then there are like core skiers and snowboarders who are all chill with each other, theater geeks, weirdos, the one black kid, the other 20 asians, preppy sluts, and the chicks who get perfect grades but pretend/dress like sluts. kinda weird.

-french immersion kids and drama/theatre kids (emos and/or hipsters... prone to skipping class)

-cool asian kids (girls wore tna a lot; guys wore black puffer jackets and spent too much time on their hair; skipped class or slacked off a lot; took mandarin instead of french)

-nerds (either took graphic arts classes and chemistry, and were really into anime; or were in the enriched program and took philosophy, literature, history, and ap english)

-kids about to drop out (either in tumanos--the first nations program; or some other program I didn't know about.. didn't see them around much)

are there cliques in college? at my college theres 2 types of people, that can then be divided further:

partiers/non-partiers

and then jock/normal kid/hipster/bro. the vast majority are just normal kids. just like completely normal white kids.

they arent really cliques that much.
 
i may just be from vancouver... but 1/ of our school is obnoxiously loud asian girls. theyr nice people, but good god, the high pitch laughing is brutal
 
Yeah, it's actually a huge deal here... they get into fights a lot and there's all this tension between the rednecks who claim balck kids just use up welfare and drain society and black kids who think hicks are just ignorant of their heritage and racist... makes for quite a fun school hah
 
yeah im from san francisco, and when i got to the vancouver airport I was amazed about how many asians you guys had. being from san fran i thought i was prepared for shit like that but vancover takes it up to a whole nother level.
 
I'm not going to lie... looking back on high school, I was a plastic.
I went to an all-girls Catholic boarding school so technically we were ALL plastic but we got called that because the "real" plastics HATED that my friends and I didn't give a shit and made it known that we were "exclusive." Please, we were such good friends because we hated the school and pretty much everyone there. We were literally friends by default, not exclusive at all! We just partied and surfed, thats about it.

At my school there weren't too many defined cliques, though. Just groups of friends, but most weren't definable. There was a division between the residents and the day students, between the drama kids and the athletes, even between the tekkies and the actors. But there was always the underlying "old money/new money/scholarship cases/what does your daddy do?" division. Lame. Hated that school.

Also odd but true. The lesbians, at least when I was there, were really exclusive. And weird.
 
its because they all started business over here, became rich, moved their families out to vancouver, or it might've been the opposite, where they started business over there or something, but i do know it had to do with taht shipping products from china and or japan that when planes ship cargo, they fly in the great circle or whatever, becuase its closer.

learned about it in some geography class.
 
i go to an all guys school in DC, so there is an ecclectic bunch

- maryland bros

- weird virginia kids who do stuff like quote the office

- theater kids

- very liberal city kids

- black kids/athletes

- skiers (including myself, who chill with most everyone)
 
in my school theres hockey players, skiers, kids who are on drug testing, potheads, kids who party every day, dippers,
 
wow my school sounds nothing like that... i go to a small private school that you have to test into so everyone is pretty smart.............we have

the asian kids

really smart kids who play vid games too much

kids who think they are athletic

people who mess around alot but still get good grades.... my school is so boring
