Help. getting new Armadas, must make decision

Hey guys I am about to get a new pair of park skis and I have to choose between this years AR7 and last years t-halls. Im about 200lbs and ride intermediate park. Iv read a bunch on here about how the t-halls are softer and more buttery but the AR7 is a better all mountain ski. Its a hard decision because i have never really had a soft ski so im wondering with my weight will having the t-hall be too soft for me?Also iv been riding a full rocker ski for a while now and obviously both of these choices are full camber so what is the big differences im going to feel when making the switch?

+k for help, thanks a ton guys

Also the atomic infamous is an option. with its mustache rocker would it be easier to make the switch and i hear its basically as soft as the thall?

I dont think you would have a problem with the thalls, in fact, they might be a perfect medium, I'd hold doubt if it were al dentes because those are even softer, while the AR7's are a stiffer ski, if you want to go in between, i'd say thalls. If you are used to a stiffer solid ski, the AR7's would be for you. Both skis are really solid though and I know you'd enjoy either of them.

why not this year's THalls? And if you want skis that can slay both park and all-mountain in the Armada lineup, check out the Dentes

Im lookin at a fresh ski sale so its pretty limited to the ar7, last years t-halls, and the infamous. The sale ends tomorrow so im gettin some last ditch attempts to get some input before i impulse buy some planks.Id love for the al dantes to be an option but they arent.

I have never really tried getting into butters because iv been riding a stiffer ski but i sure would like to try. Im guessing it would be more difficult with the ar7s as opposed to the other two?

a little bit, but if you learn them on a stiff ski you'll be better at them and be able to throw them with ease on a soft ski

So i probably wouldnt know the difference seeing as they both are probably softer than the shitpiece k2 press iv been riding (yeah i know it is a trash ski). So id be going from that rocker to full camber, what would be the big differences that i would feel?

Just curious, just busted my old park skis and AR7's, Thalls, Infamous', and Filthy Riches are what I am basically looking for. Where is this sale that you are thinking of purchasing from? Just curious.

Its a sale around where i live, full price shit but then you get a voucher to go in the first week of march and spend the same amount as credit, basically free money when you spend money. Decent. Im leaning towards the t-halls because i havent heard a bad thing about them and I dont hit massive jumps where the extra stiffness of the ar7 would be needed.

But the ar7 is known as an all mountain/park ski whereas the t-hall is known as just a park ski, is this because of the stiffness because i heard they are largely the same specs

Ya, I think the Thalls are the best choice for you because they'd perform the best on rails/jumps evenly.

get the t-halls, they will be a great ski because they are stiff enough for your weight, and will be soft when you want them to be(meaning they will work well for butters if you try them). The Infamous will be exactly like the t-halls(meaning they will work how I just said the T-halls work) except for the fact that they have a slight rocker(I would go with the infamous because of this).

The Thall is not really soft. The tails hardly bend under load (the tips are slightly softer).

Look at all skis not just armadas, don't get skis you think you will look cool with, like when fanboys buy fulltilt boots without having them properly fitted because tom wallisch uses them and wil make them look cool

thanks because i was really just going for the cool factor before you said something, regardless of me inquiring as to what people's opinions were on the flex patterns and profiles and stating that i was looking at a sale where the two armadas and atomic infamous were my options.Reading the rest of the thread and not just the title is always a clutch idea.

Anyways thanks guys for all the input and help, I went with the ar7 (theyll make me look so cool) because i heard they were a more all mountain oriented park ski as opposed to the other two. Now I have a $500 voucher to spend at that shop so I was thinking about getting the infamous as well just to try out the park/mustache rocker profile. Then i can see which I find more to my liking.

Good looks homies

Are you saying that, they are not soft. Look at the image at how much that tail is flexing.

To OP, at your size I honestly would look at the AR7, unless you only hit park. The Thall is softer but the same overall shape. Because its softer it does not carve nearly as well as the AR7, so if you still like to ski the mountain the AR7 is a better choice. The AR7 is still a soft ski, but it will have enough stiffness for you to be able to carve them. Honestly either ski is great but at your size the ar7 will prob be the best.

The press is softer than all of the skis you listed. I ski'd on them last year and they're literally too soft to butter most of the time because you completely flex into the ground and get no pop off

You guys should go ski some stiff skis haha. Yeah that thall is flexing alot, they are soft skis for sure. They are not travelling circus soft for example, but honestly I found those pretty much un-skiable they were that soft. But pretty much any ski which can be flexed right up onto the tail like in that pic, would be considered a soft flexing ski.

You're a fucking idiot. If you had read the entire thread, you would have seen that the sale at his local shop has the THalls, AR7s, and Atomic Infamous' discounted. Therefore, he wants to get one of these three skis. Clear enough for you?

^and you're clearly a noob post whore...

OP, of the ones you've listed I'd say ar7's for same reasons as Tom.

I appreciate all the help guys, as i already said i went ar7 and im getting the infamous as well to check em out and i may be selling one of them on here later. As for the "blinders" comment, it didnt help anyone so im not sure why you threw in your two cents without reading the thread. There was a comment pretty much identical to that a few posts up.

Regardless theres no need for any bad vibes, lets let this thread die.

Good looks everyone!

i didnt really read anyone elses opinions but im thinkin youre definitely gonna want the ar7s

im 135 and have last years 171 red ar7s. I can butter them plenty well. At your size you would wash out like fucking crazy on thalls. I used to have a sandwich construction thalls and as with any armada or any ski they start to loosen up and get kinda floppy. Mine got completely rockered and its hard to land stuff on them

you would probably turn a thall into an unskiable noodle haha

at the same time, if youre not really a super aggressive skier in and out of the park, you might like the thalls softness

either way theyre both bomb skis. armada all the way
