I have never skied a day in my life but I snowboard but i want to ski. I will probably ride a day or two on trails then hit the park. Any thought on this? I need a ski set up too. I am 5' 8" 115 lbs

I was thinking about some Line Skis-Step Ups 166cm. Would these be to big or too small? I also need boots bindings and poles so any suggestions would help. Im trying to keep everything all together under $700

I'm 5' 8" 125 lbs and ski 171 cm Step-Ups and love them. Got them for under 300 bucks too. Just some perspective.

Stepups sound great, especially if you can get a good deal on them. 166 is perfect for starting out on, you may find you will want to get something a bit longer though after a couple years when you progress. I would go for them though.

If i do decide to get skis they will be the stepups for sure probably. What poles and bindings should i get? I found a deal for some Solomon SPK Boots 27.5 cm i wear a sz 10 shoe should those fit?

Don't worry about poles, just walk into you local goodwill or thrift shop and find some one that fit you for cheap.

As for boots, the best option is to go to a well known shop and get you foot properly fitted to a boot. Not all ski boots fit the same, some are wider or narrower, etc. It really does make a difference, too. However, if your foot is still growing, the boots you choose aren't quite as important, just make sure they fit your foot reasonably well because you will need to wear them for the next year or two. If/when your foot is done growing, look into getting some properly fitted boots from a shop. This will probably put your total above $700, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

Bindings are another thing that aren't too important first year, depending on your weight you could get a good deal on bindings like the Marker 12.0 Free, or the Salomon Z series/STH 12.
