Help! drivers test

your taking it in portland right? the place where it is 15 mi/hr is in Payson park and they set up a fd rail and box their in the winter, but when i took my test, i wasn't taken through Payson park. i recommend not turning right on red anywhere and make sure you're always looking for things like train tracks and shit. they dont grade you on with points and shit. they just have a checklist of things that you need to do like looking both ways before a train track and parallel parking right. towards the end of the test, they decide if you have done enough things right to pass and you will see them writing out your temporary license if you are going to pass.

Here is my advice.. Stay calm, look out for hidden stop signs/ school zones/ etc. And if ou have to take a maneuverability test, take it slow (I did it the first time at like 10-15mph and cut a little to late and killed the cone.) Even if you think you are the best driver out there go slower, it isn't an F1 race.

Also yeah take it in a small automatic trans car, unless you are very very good at driving a stick.

Just my .2 cents

ummm, in my area it all depends on the driving teacher, you either get 1 of the 2 cool people or you get this black hoe that fails everyone. Just go slow, dont change lanes in an intersection, yeild when taking a left on a green light and dont touch the cone when you paralell park, just go back and forth just dont touch it cus thats a fail if you do

yea im taking it in portand, im so nervous, i know i nee to be calm but i cant help it, i just really want to pass it first time, i dotn want to wait another 2-3 weeks... it sucks to because i was practicing with my dads subaru all yesterday and now i just found out his subaru isnt registered so i cant use it and have to use my sisters jetta which has soooo much shit wrong with it, hope i pass though

took it today and passed it, thanks for the tips, i was mad nervoud in the beggining because he asked me to turn on my lights and they werent coming on and he was like how are you gunna drive if you dont even know how to turn on your lights, i was like uh... then the first thing we did was parrallel park and i legit came like 1/2 and inch from the curb, i was sooooo close, the rest was mad easy, i could tell i got my license once he started to ask me my height, weight, hair color and eye color... but its not that great because my rents are being unreal and are so obssesed with school that they wont let me drive or ski with out honors... but i took the car out anyways, so much better then permit but i can see it getting lame real fast

I took mine last week and passed. You will have no problem passing it as long as you use your directionals and make a complete stop at all stop signs. I even hit the curb while parellel parking and didnt look back while doing the 3-point turn and still passed. Since were both in the same state the test should be the same and it really easy.

yea, the only thing i got points off of on mine was i clipped a snowbank doing a 3 point turn in a massive truck, on a small road, it was super gay, but easy as fuck.

bump cuz im taking mine soon.

my friend failed when he was backing out of the parking spot, starting the test, he got too close to a car.
another friend didnt put her seatbelt on - fail

Too close to a parked car? If so, that's bullshit, it just proves that he knows the car really well spatially. Forgetting to put the seatbelt on? I guess it's a girl, but damn. Honestly, I was worried about when I took mine, but it's really just easy. Here in CA they don't dock you points if you're within 3 under or over the speed limit. Your best bet, cruise down and drive the streets around the DMV and drive one under the whole time, don't aim for exactly the speed limit.

make sure you use your blinkers a good 2/3 seconds before the turn. My brother didnt do that, and failed his test hahaha. When you are reversing, make sure to put on your hazard lights... other than parralell parking, you should be fine

yeah, he used his own car which he knows very will, and since there is no auxiliary brake for the examiner, he was told to stop = fail. but he talked to them and got a 2nd test the next day for free... using their car tho.

To be honest, you should be using your blinkers like that anyway. It bugs the shit out of me when I'm trying to turn out of something and some bastard decides to not use his blinker, so I usually end up getting screwed out of a good time to go. Also, when going into the right turn lane, glance over your right shoulder, same applies for a left turn lane. Check your blind spot- they love that. Also, they won't be watching your eyes so make sure that you're really moving your head the whole time.
