so when ever i try to do a switch up on a box i can never seem to be able to get the spin because my front foot slips on the box. any suggestions on how to get the grip on the box? thanks.

scissor, and no I dont mean the lesbian kind of scissoring. put pressure on one toe, and on the heel of the other foot. This locks you in place, then wind up them shoulders and spin it. make sure to always be looking at the end of the rail, except on back changes of course...

if you're trying front swaps, try to dig your heel into the side of the box, almost like you were going to try to stop, because you're trying to create as much friction as possible. set your shoulders for a 180, and when you feel like its the time, just pop, bring your shoulders around, and your feet will follow. if you commit, I'll guarantee you'll make it full 180. oh and in my opinion its easier to learn them on boxes, but on rails theyr easier to set because they're narrower

for fs switchups. jump on to the box, and as you are landing on it, set the heel of your front foot on the edge of the box, the minute you start to spin, hop and keep turning and viola, fs swaps.

for bs swaps just jump on but keep spinning a bit, look over your back shoulder, and just hop again. viola, bs swaps. they are pretty simple when you dont overthink them.
