my car has been acting a little funny lately but i was really scared.

what would cause that.

i know nothing about cars.

HELP!

1998 chryslar town and country

around 134000 miles

i called my mom, she laughed at me.

i guess were gonna take it somewhere tonight but still.

any thoughts?

Your best bet would be to first ask your parents and then if they dont know whats wrong go to a garage and get it checked out.

if they both went out at once, it may be something as simple as a fuse, or an electrical glitch somewhere. im assuming with something that new, they are both electrical, cause if they weren't, you would have a broken cable.

if it helps

the beeper doesnt work either

and the air bag light on teh dash is always on.

its been having troubles starting lately like it clicks, they thought either the battery or the starter

gah i'm going to be carless.

but anymore help.

pleaseee

No biggie. Just follow everyone else at the same speed. My friend's Sube has no speedometer and he goes up to the mountains all the time.

well if the van is still turning over and starting I would rule out the starter as the problem, it might be on it's way out but probably not the issue here. What do you mean it clicks? like the engine itself or one of the accessory drives off of the engine? Also did you check the fuses for any blown ones or run a diagnostic (autozone can usually do it for free) then the van might tell you whats wrong. I've never heard of a dash stop working unless it was a wiring problem somewhere. And what do you mean by the beeper?? like the thing that beeps when you open the door with the key in the ignition or like a keyless remote, or the horn?

i wouldn't call a 10 year old car 'new' and i especially wouldn't be expecting an american made car to still be reliable .

you're right to say that the smart thing to do is to check the fuse box, but i wouldn't be surprised to find that the problem lies else where.

it's a tough call, you're going to spend all this money getting it fixed only to have another problem arise. Cars really are just shit investments, it sucks how dependent we've allowed ourselves to become on them.

you should be able to judge what speed you're going anyway, its not that big a deal. somethings probably crapped out in the back of the dash. the speedo and tacho aren't working, but are the odometer & trip counter still ticking over? if they aren't then either the problem is in the dash itself or the sensors/cable that collect that info. just take it into a garage at some point and get them to fix it. mind you, if the odometers not working you can keep driving your car without putting any more miles on it, then get it fixed right before you sell it and it'll look like it has low mileage

definatly an electrical porblem. so, i would take it to a garage, cus electrical stuff is no fun to fix

shut up benji.

you didnt even answer my text anyways.

and your brother almost killed the mininug even more today at the skate park

haha but you missed the buying of slurpies with canadian money. it was hilarious. andre was so stoked it worked

well its at the shop right now

when i left school it worked again

but when i left my house again tonight it did the whole no speedometer or rpm anymore

and beeper, thats what i call the horn. haha

and when you use all that big talk i ahev no idea what youre talkign about

but yeah, it will turn iver after you try it a few times but other times it wont at all and we ahev to get it towed

just crazy its just in the shop now, it better get done soon.

i hate being carless

Your telling me, I've been without my baby for about oh 6-7 months now and I can't wait to be back driving her on a daily basis. (I'm at college and my car is back home until next year when I can bring her with me to school), also I'm kinda a car guy so not having my baby is killing me somedays, she's totally stock right now (hopefully soon to change) but I still love her and want her to run forever (well at least till I can get a 2nd car and make this one a track whore).

I'm sure the shop will fiigure it all out but it sounds like either your starter or maybe alternator might be ging with the starting problem and then probably just some lose wires with the Dash.

Shouldn't be to expensive given it's an American car, but you never know.
