HELP! Building a computer

im planning on building a compter over the next couple weeks as my dad takes me to computer shows and stuff but any specific components you would recommend for a cheap computer that will do music, and video and internet only no other programs. i have a budget of about $600, preferably less

ok i would recommend at least 1gb RAM if not t hen MORE!!, if you dont know that makes your computer go faster when you have more programs up. and yeah if you can try to get a built in dvd burner. i got a powermac G5 and im set . if you can get it.

pricewatch just monitors prices on specific sites that sell a particular product like computer hardware. i would actually recommend newegg to anyone who doesn't have much experience in this area... usually not the absolutely lowest price but close to it w/ 10x better service and shipping time.
