Help a little guy out

Alright, I am an east coast skiier, And for the most part i butter alot. In addition to this, I am 5'1" and 100 pounds, and I ski about 4 to 6 times a week. I was wondering if any of you guys knew about a ski that is very light, very buttery (Butter Zones) And very soft, since it is obviously harder for a little guy to get a stiffer ski to flex. I was thinking about the T-halls, and I had the volkl walls, which were great for buttering, but I was wondering if there was anything better and possibly softer. Thanks for reading, +K for helping me out.

THalls are so much softer than walls, so those would be good, and they're very durable, afterbangs are also soft and buttery, as well as invaders if you can find a pair. LTEs also butter pretty easily.

Sorry guys, I meant I had the Volkl ledges. And is the T-hall light, and like as soft as the Kung Fujas, etc. + K to all of you for helping

youre perfectly describing the line invaders.. my friend might actually have an old pair, but hes on vacation. pm me if youre interested

I would recommend the T Halls. Especially because being from the east coast I imagine that you hit a lot of rails and the T halls are an extremely durable and soft ski.

Alright, so the T-halls are soft, buttery, etc. Do they have butterzones, not that I need them. And will my small frame still be able to flex them without much effort? And are they light compared to the Ledges, and softer

yeah, I was looking at reviews for a while, and was also wondering about the mastermind. But the reason I ask ns was because there are alot of mixed reviews for them about the flex... Also, my brother used to have the line invader minis, and they were a relatively stiff ski, hardly any give, I believe they were the 06/07 models with the Green/white/dark green graphics. are the newer ones softer or what?

Hmm you might want to look into Atomic Punx too. I hear they're super soft, buttery, poppy, and durable - looking into getting myself a pair next season. They're also symmetrical if that matters to you. Also, thalls are supposedly getting stiffer next year (I don't know about the flex of previous years, although from what others are saying they sound soft), so if you are going to get them, I'd get some from 09/10. AR7 might also be a good choice although I'm not sure about the difference between them and thalls.

THalls do have butter zones, and if you get last years (09/10s) they'll be softer than ledges (the 10/11s are a bit stiffer than last years). Masterminds are actually on the stiffer side of things, at least they're stiffer than Afterbangs, I know they look like noodles cause they look like they're meant to replace the invader, but that's the afterbangs jobs. I would still say your best bet is 09/10 THalls.

I demoed a set of the 09/10 thalls this past season when my skis were gettin repaired and everyone is right, they were pretty soft. Not quite as soft as the afterbang which would also be a good choice but still easy to butter. They were a heck of alot softer than my chronics which to my knowledge are similar in flex to the masterminds so those may not be the right choice. Like Flash said, your best bet are last years Thalls

Alright, so you guys would say that the 09/10 t-hall is the lightest, butteriest, and softest ski out there, and would work for a little guy like me.

INVADER! if you can find a new pair jump on them asap, super nice, you can butter but they are also responsive unlike the a-bangs and much lighter. Im 5'3 120 and last season i skied my invaders 5 times a week and they were the best! I personally really dont like vokl walls or ledges, just the way they feel and ski, and armada is to pricy for somthing i beat up so much. also check out the 2010 boones skis they are looking really good. (lookbook http://issuu.com/boone_skis/docs/boone-skis-lookbook)

hope that helps.

Alright, those boone skis look really sick. Any idea which one would fit my needs. Also, I do a lot of all mountain jibbing such. And a price doesn't really matter with the 09/10 T-halls. +++K

yo i got some outterwhere for ya if you need it! and some invaders pretty good cond. broken in so super soft but still got somel ife. get at me super cheap too

my threads

^Not sure I'm interested but thanks. In addition to this, I also need some new boots, one's that prevent shin-bang and have a very soft flex fo a guy like me. I was thinking full-tilt booter or hot-dogger, since next years booter looks different. I had shinbang with my 07/08 rossi blast boots, probably because i have skinnier calves. also, my foot is a little-bit narrower than normal. Would full tilt prevent shin-bang and ankles that hurt? Thanks

boots are something we can't recommend. going to have to go to a professional boot fitter for that. I had the 09/10 thalls and I am a big guy 210 and they were so soft it was hard for me to land the big jumps, however with your size I am sure they will be perfect.

Oh, alright man, thanks a bunch for the info. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the T-halls after what I heard, especially if they are softer than the ledges and more buttery. +K

And also, I had 169 ledges last year, which worked fine. Should I get 171 T-halls (If that is an available size) and if so would they still butter correctly. And I am also not to worried about real big jumps, mainly just rails and alot of jibbing/buttering/etc.

ummm you said you were like 5' 1" a 171cm ski is going to be a little big on you ehh just saying i mean to each their own but thats a little big i'm 5' 7" and i ski 171

Sorry, I forgot to add this. When reading reviews for the t-hall, It says that it is stable underfoot, does that really affect It's playfulness and feeling. Does it make it somewhat stiffer? And will it also be good for things like nose blocks, nose and tail taps, and light enough for spinning off of little bumps, Basically all-mountain jibbing?

stiffness underfoot is a good thing. you wont notice it when buttering, etc. because you dont really focus on flexing your ski underfoot, you focus on flexing the tip/ tail...

its a good thing because on rails and landing its WAY more stable of a platform.

Alright, thanks alot, +K. Do the T-halls have a flex comparable to the Kung Fujas or something else with that softness. I also heard A review saying it had a stiff tail, which I do not want, as I want to do Tail butters as well

im pretty sure the thalls are really soft from what ive heard, ive never riden them but im guessing the tail will be just as flexy, i say go for it

i loved them

buttery and flexy and easy to ride.. also i find they are great on rails, i just love the felling

no idea about the pro pipes, i stay away from salomon's skis due to their reputation

I'm pretty light myself and always look for a soft ski, I'm on t halls now and haven't found anything softer for park. Even my old fujatives which are regarded as a noodle. As long as you don't get this seasons, still soft but nothing on previous years. I spent this week looking at most of the skis on the market and t halls win hands down.

yea i bought the t-halls and they are a lot stiffer than most park skis ive ridden (im 6'3 193 though so for a small guy they would be stiff as fuck). SUPER POPPY though.
