im comin up to vancouver after christmas to visit a friend and we're treking up to whistler from the 27th-1st. need to know the low down on cheap easy places to stay and if its worth staying in whistler for new years rather than heading back to vancouver for some parties...any help greatly appreciated

'Cheap place to stay' isn't really a phrase that applies to Whistler. There are a handful of reasonable places to stay - but they'll all be taken. The UBC lodge is probably the cheapest but the students get first dibs - specially during that time. Hope you like car camping or tenting it in the snow (or rain).

car, hostel, some dirrrty hos floor. bring lotsa cashola as the bars are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$44 on new years.

Try to make a reservation at the fireside lodge, the ubc hostel, or creekside hostel. Those places are reasonably cheap. Alternatively, I'll bet if you throw down a flat of beer and eigth of weed, any of the guys on this forum will let you crash their floor. If you drive, just park in lot 4. I personally think the snow cave would be a very enjoyable experience, right at the base of the moutain, nestled amongst some trees. Shit, just take a solid tent and fortify around it.

dude if you just got a really strong tent and barried it and made an igloo that would be so sick.

yah make an igloo eh, thats how we do it up here in canada eh. then go to the bar everynight and try to pick up random girl and get 'er to take you back to her place so that you can sleep in a nice warm bed. and if that fails, you still got your igloo eh.
