so the other day I was riding my brand new Armada ARV's and i landed backseat on a cork 7 and my toepiece just ripped right out. I took it into the shop and they said "oh well just put some heloscrews in there." they said it was some kind of screw with and anchor like thing at the end. they did their thing and i was back on my skis within the hour.

have you guys every heard of these screws?

what are they?

is it possible to just mount you bindings with them right away?

(sorry if I spelled it wrong)

They are called Helicoils. Its basically a screw inside a screw. They screw it into the old hole and when they put the binding screw back in it expands the coil and forces it permanently into the ski. They are used in all sorts of applications and work very well! Yes you can use them right away.

Np. I use them all the time in engines of quads and motercycles when i strip the threads. They're a lot cheaper then a whole new engine block.
