I bought last years model of the Giro Ravine, and it seems to fit my head perfectly. But when I look at myself in the mirror, it looks huge on my head. Do all helmets make your head look big?

yeah same problem here, but when i have on my heavey coat and snowpants and everything then it looks fine.

 
Well, I guess since a helmet has to be bigger than your head to protect it it would make your head look big.... Whatever I don't really care that much I'd rather have an uninjured head even if it's big.

haha i just had a image in my head....what if they made a helmet that was like a banana....like if it either when out to the sides ot like front to back......ah that would make me laugh if i saw someone wearing that. i'll stop talking now

Thanks for the replies. I was just worried that I had picked out an unusualy sized helmet, but I guess not.

yea if it fits snug and doesnt look big with ur jacket and stuff its fine...

i bought a leedom and it looked big.. but then i broke it

i just bought a giro 9.. very awesome helmets they dont look big on ur head too

dylhole, wear a helmet. It will eventually save your melon and also, it makes you look cool. I think normal skiers wearing helmets is catching up fast. I have three helmets ^^

 
i wear my helmet in the park and when its icy...i dont really like wearing it just bescause its un comfortable for me. i really should wear it more often,

 
im gonna get a helmet this year because i hit my head really hard last year. what types of helemets are good? i know RED makes sweet helmets,my cousin has one. how are the k2 ones?

if you want you head to look 5x bigger than it really is, get a k2 helmet (what i have, damn). If you want to look good, get the RED sky cap or their new X something or other, those are both very cool.

yah, ugly as hell, haha, ah well, what can ya do.

but yah, I have a black diamond alpine climbing helmet, it looks mad huge on my head but if I'm up on the mountain or 200 miles up on a huge kicker then yah, you don't really notice it aye.

Yeah that is weird.. we are talking about the Burton RED helmets... I have to find one quick and I dont know what to buy, it seems like everyone is buying the giro 9s..
