Helmets and urban? Survey

Yeah, except no matter how good you are, everyone falls doing urban. You see it in almost every major ski movie now. Urban crashes. I think it's alot smarter, no matter how good you are. I'd rather my helmet smash off concrete stairs than my head.

2.Depends, if i'm hittin a rail with a closeout or big drop on one side i wear one, but if its just a basic handrail i don't.

i always wear a helmet...why take the risk. if you think your too good for a helmet then you should stay off of skis because theres other people who arnt good and willl probably plow into you...last week i was skiing wiht some of my friends and we were just messin around in the pow and dropping some rocks and shit and some crazy gaper is following us and right as my friend 3s a 10 cliff and eats shit the gaper lands on him and skis away. being as immature as ns is nobody will listen and they will just hate. helmets are good
 
remember when skiing was fun, and you didn't worry about being 'legit' based on whether you wore a helmet or not? maybe tom wears a helmet because, guess what, skiing's his job right now? if you take a shot to the head and need to take a few days off, that's a few days off of work, and that much time not getting paid. or he just doesn't wanna be a vegetable for the rest of his life. has no one one here ever dealt first hand with a concussion? how you could see what a good shot to the head does to someone and still choose to not wear a helmet blows my mind.
 
1. Yes I think its legit to wear helmets when skiing urban. Do you want reasons? If I didn't wear a helmet at all times while skiing (especially urban) I wouldn't be able to 'splain myself very good.2. Ya I wear a helmet skiing urban, I don't ski urban much but I definitely wear one when I do .Wearing a helmet is a personal choice but I wanna be able to keep skiing urban in years to come, so it seems smart to wear one.3. I wear a helmet regardless of where i'm skiing, you can call me a pussy if you want, its whatever. I've had a lot of expieriance with head injuries. I don't want people to end up like me and have to go to different hospitals all the time and have to take tests and shit. I've had 7 concussions now and it gets pretty sucky after the millionth time to the hospital. As for pros and wearing helmets, if they don't wear a helmet I'm not gonna judge them at all or anything, it's basically what they do for a living so they stomp rails all day. There's probably a lot less chance for them to fall then me.
 
After a 6 week concussion.... I always wear a helmet. Enough said. It's not pussy, it's safety. And besides, I think it actually looks kinda weird when somebody doesn't wear a helmet.. Like when people wear jeans skiing.
 
I wear a helmet at all times, even to school. Never know when some big dumb bully's gonna plow your head into a trash can and then youre like "oh what I don't remember the last ten minutes of my life" and then eventually after it happens again a few times you lose some brain functon an yo cat tak wright fo te ress o yo lif so yo ca foget abou skiin man yo brai don wrok righ

i wear mine all the time.. after i hit my head with it on. and i feel like it saved my season... its a good idea IMO

Woah woah I don't give a shit about legitness. I'm just saying it seems that all pro's or up and coming skiers aren't really wearing helmets when doing Urban. I think this should be the total opposite... it is setting a bad example to younger kids and really what is the difference with it on or off your head?... other then one of them provides safety.

Really I would rather see all skiers with helmets on when doing urban would just make more sense. Wearing no helmet just doesn't make any sense there is no upside other then the "image". I just wanted to see other views about this.
 
My helmet has saved me so many times, and its comfy and cool looking, so its a definite no brainer to always wear it.

2. Yes I wear a helmet doing urban.

3 Don't know why anyone wouldn't. They're really not uncomfortable and they could save you from being brain injured the rest of your life....

3. why not wear one, they dont look or feel bad, there is no downside to wearing them, if u wear it on the hill it makes even more sense to wear it while hitting urban. *tom wallisch wears one.
 
I like urban and I also like my head, so if I want to continue doing urban I think I'll need my head, dahhhhh what do you think ? Should we use the helmet ? So what do ya think !!!

3. I don't get why people don't wear helmets with urban. It makes no sense to me. I am even more inclined to wear my helmet because you smash on concrete and metal.
 
i can't ski without a helmet. never hit a handrail without one on no way i could commit. but do i give a shit if someone chooses to not where one? nope

my friend took a header last month, even with the a helmet on he probably won't ski for 2+ years, so i'm feeling kind of pro-helmet at the moment

I forgot your three questions I always wear a helmet unless i snowboard which is near never and always while i hit urban
 
1. the legitness is determined by the trick not the the gear. a guy without a helmet doing a straight to switch without a helmet will never be as legit as a guy pretzeling a dub kink with a helmet.

2. seen too many concussions happen, some life threatening. i always rock a dome piece
