Helmets and beanies?

Hey guys just thinking of ordering a new helmet. I'm a medium for most helmets but i've never tried fitting a beanie underneath? Should I go a size up ? The helmet I'm looking at is the smith holt +K for all good answers thanks!

Beanie will take the place of padding, so whatever size fits your head in-store should work with a beanie once you take the padding out. Unless you decide to use an absolutely monstrous beanie. Helmets are tricky to size without trying on, so I would recommend going to a store to try one on, even if you don't buy it there.

i sized up on my helmet so i could wear a beanie

nope. but i use a rime knits beanie. they are pretty big if you don't own one.

i use a thinner beanie combined with the thin padding option (helmet came with thin, medium, and thick pads) and my regular size.
