Helmet visors

I have the Giro nine.9 MX with the little visor thingee. I'm not really sure what the visor is for since it barely blocks any sun and i figure goggles are supposed to do that for you.

So what do you guys think of the visor and does anyone have any idea what it's really for?

its there to break, first day out with my Giro Flint I bailed off a roller and face planted, my visor snapped like nothing. You can do without it even though it does look kinda cool.

I have the same helmet but with tune ups. I think the look with the visor is what seperates me from the retarded skiers with the big leedom helmets and the massive rental ones. I think it's steezy. What it comes down to is that it's just for looks.

Not just for looks. It comes in very helpful when skiing through trees. Just tuck your chin down and power through low hanging branches without scratching the shit out of your face.

 
also helps if your going to smash your face...the visor will hit first

^they can be nice, but they also can be a bad thing because they can move your neck around when it normaly wouldnt. i had one this season, i wont next. they are there to look cool, but i dont need it.

I made a faceplant with my giro 9mx. got a huge crack in the front of it, and my face. but the visor is still there and no damage to it..
