Helmet suggestions

I'm looking to buy a new helmet. I honestly don't know much about the options right now, but maybe if you could post which helmet you have and a picture of it or something and why you chose it then I can narrow down my options.

I'm currently looking at the Shiv, Holt, and a couple of Bern helmets.

I used to have the RED trace and didnt like it much. It didnt fit me right and the shell separated from the foam and slid around a lot. I now have the bern brentwood and I love it. It's super light, very comfortable, has a little adjustable peice in he back to tighten it to fit better, works well with goggles over the top or underneath, and is fairly inexpensive. So the Bern brentwood is my suggestion. hope that helps

well i don't really know what your colors are or anything but i have the giro omen helmet in blue.

it's a bit expensive at 200$ but it's a great buy if you want quality

Smith Holt with Crowbars, I really like how it fits and I can't ask for any better.

You should bring your goggles and hat to the shop when your getting a helmet, and take the one that fits best.

I will go to the shop sometime soon. I'm just looking for suggestions to narrow down my choices. I don't do the whole beanie under helmet thing either.

bern macon helmet super comfy low profile fits good with cbars has a winter upgrade which is nice and warm! for pictures check out my profile!

It's just a fashion statement. I suppose your head is warmer but I've never had a problem with a cold head, so I don't put the beanie underneath. It also seems like the helmet wouldn't fit correctly.

oh, and I have A-frames and smith fuses. I'm not going to drop any more cash on goggles when I'm spending $50+ on a helmet.

Beanie under the helmet is actually not a good thing. A few helmets have knit liners which look like they are wearing hats under, but they aren't. It is soley a fashion thing.
The beanie under the helmet can actually inhibit the performance of the helmet causing it to not be tight enough. When you put on the helmet if it fits properly it should move your forehead skin around when you try to move it. It should be tight all the way around the head with out any pressure points. When you put a beanie on under, it generally doesn't fit tight enough cause again, with the beanie on, it should still move your forehead but I promise you it is quite uncomfortable in that manner (unless you have a magical beanie with no seams).
Like the post up top, I wear a Smith Holt too cause its the cheapest helmet I can get. Helmets are only good for 1 major impact and I've had 3 in the last year and a half. So I don't want to buy a $100 helmet. If you are looking for something more so to keep your head from cracking open on rails and such, then don't get a helmet, get a hard hat. Bern makes hard hats, I believe POC has 1, I've seen them from another company as well. The Bern ones have the liner in them where it looks like you are wearing a beanie under.

i were a beanie under my helmet because the eearflaps hurt my ears real bad for unknown reasons. My helmet still fits good, and its warm. but i did it purely on a comfort issue.

Bern makes some good helmets. Go try em on all helmets fit differently. you will probably end up buying one you werent even thinking about buying.

Same thing my roommate wears. I like the look. Crowbars are way too huge for my little head though. I definitely prefer the bern look, I just can't do the hard hat thing cause I have a tendency to need the concussion reduction that a helmet gives. The Holts aren't so bad though.

what would fit with eg2 broke my old helmet, it was a bern so im think them again but any others that would work?

to op- get bern hardhat reat helmet
