So i have an old pro-tec helmet and i want to make it look awesome...The paint is all gross right now an stuff so i was planning on spray painting it a solid color then doing some cool designs in sharpie and then a clear top coat over it...any cool ideas for colors, designs, etc? I'm artistic, so i can handle some crazy ideas most likey

I'v heard spray paint messes up the plastic or something like that and also that it chips really easiy, you needa special spray paint or other paint.
 
you need a special plastic spray paint, its about $9 a can, i bought it at an auto part shop
 
Maybe mountain scenery all around the helmet.. pretty complicated.. anyway be sure to post pics when you're done

i rock this climbing helmet, i really love the design, alltough i think skihelmets with tight designs and art are the best, like asymmetric line running through the helmet or something.
(some advice, dont save money on paint, get the best paint out there, you'll be glad you spend a bit more...)

 
yeah, ive heard spray paint pretty much makes a helmet really easy to break on impact. but sticker it up or paint it a sweet 2 tone
 
i would totally do an exposed brain, w/edges of the skull still showing. make sure you get that kerlon stuff, adheres to plastics way better than tradition spray paint
 
Make it look ridiculously beat up, like huge gashes and shit, bulletholes, try to paint like an explosion crater on or something hahaha. That would be sick.
 
So the helmet is officially painted white, and I have sharpies to deck it out, i also have acrylic paint that i can work with...I still need ideas though! ( I also have a clear top cat that adds a glittery touch)
 
This, but I'd paint it so that it looked like the helmet cracked open and have brains oozing out of the crack. The other one I have always thought would be sweet is to paint the helmet to look like a bucket and make it look like there is a brain in it.
 
i stared at this for like 5 mins till i finally got it. that man has talent.
For thread starter: make sure you put a lot of coats of primer to preserve your paint. Post pics when you are done.

YES! This is exactly what I was thinking, but better! I was going to say make it a brain in a jar but that makes no sense at all. MAKE THIS!!!!

And you should probably include a thought bubble in there somewhere.
