Looking to pick up a new helmet for this season and wanted to get opinions on what you feel is the ultimate helmet and audio set-up. I looked for other threads but felt that they were pretty limited and do not address the newer helmets and audio capable options out there.

Factors to be considered are Steeze, low-profile fit, weight, adjustability, audio compatibility, and goggle fit.

First off... I will start by saying last year I rode a POC Receptor Bug TJ Schiller Edition in L/XL with Anon m2 or Dragon APX goggles. Ultimately the helmet fit fine but the adjustability was sub par through having to remove the inner padding if I wanted to fit a goggle strap or a beanie underneath. For audio I ended up using cheap Skull-Candy ear-buds which always seemed to fall out and did not stay seated inside my ears. Overall I wasn't impressed and ended up riding helmetless for most of the season with over the ear headphones. At the end of the season I decided to sell my helmet to a friend and now I am looking to see what other options are out there.

Looking at the following...

1. POC Receptor Bug (Beats Audio Edition)---Supposed to be one of the safest multi-impact helmets. Beats audio edition is not offered in the adjustable version and I am assuming the adjustable Receptor Bug is non drop-in audio compatible?

2. Smith Vantage---One of the lowest profile best fitting helmets out there. Adjusting BOA system and is drop-in audio compatible. Smith helmets have great reviews.

3. Smith Maze---Drop in audio-compatible and is known to be one of the most popular options nowadays. How is the self adjusting system compared to the BOA system? BOA system worth the upgrade?

4. Anon Talan---BOA adjustable fit system. Pairs with Anon M2 goggles. Steeziest looks in my opinion. How low-profile are these?

5. Anon Rodan---BOA adjustable fit system. Pairs with Anon M2 goggles. Steezy Looks. Low-Profile? Any difference compared to the Talan?

Before I go full force into the drop-in audio compatibility. I know a lot of people still ride with earbuds or headphones under the helmet so I would like to hear some opinions on the best options if I wanted to upgrade my helmet, remove the ear-pads, and run audio the old school way. Id be fine with this option if I could get good sound quality and keep them in my ear comfortably.

Lastly, since I know someone will bring it up. MY LOCAL SHOP DOES NOT OFFER ANY OF THESE HELMETS OTHER THAN THE POC. Therefore I cannot try them on or see them in stores to decide for myself.

Im diggin my bern macon hard hat, super light and fits over any goggles

as for audio, i just use the apple earbuds haha
 
I rock a smith maze. I love it. I hate helmets, and the Maze advertises the lowest weight, and I barely feel it up there. It's pretty low pro too. also cheap... especially if you get the bike version and just wear gogs/beanie underneath.
 
The factor you should take into consideration first and foremost should be to find a helmet that FITS YOUR HEAD CORRECTLY.

factor #2 to consider... buy a real helmet, your brain will thank you even if it you are sacrificing your subjective "steeze", because you know what is really steezey? not turning yourself into an vegetable!! YAAAAY!!!

I love my giro combyn helmet. I personally wont wear a different helmet. It fits so nicely and I have Oakley Canopy goggles and the two fit well together. I personally still use earbuds when I ski and I love them especially since they're noise canceling so I can just focus on my line and not hear the outside noise.
 
Got a new smith maze. Only skied once in it but its super lightweight and comfortable and you can hardly feel it on your head. Pretty simple style but the vents on it are sick
 
I'm trying to choose between a Smith Maze and POC Receptor.

I usually wear a flat brim under my helmet and shades, and my dome is relatively a normal size.

Thought???
