Helmet question

I have smacked my head pretty hard several times against the ground but never have gotten a concussion or anything serious--anyways, i know that a helmet is basically useless after a very strong impact. the question is, how do i know if my helmet is useless at this point?
 
do you mean, you smacked it hard with the same helmet on? and youre contemplating getting a new one? since the other one is old?
 
im contemplating getting a new one because ive smacked my head several times --but i dont know if the smakage completely ruined my helmet, therefor unsure if i need a new helmet
 
I'd check the foam. Maybe go into a ski store or something and ask some questions? If the foam is cracked i'd replace it.
 
you shouldent need one if you didnt get a concusion from hitting your head , or if the helmate has any visable cracks or dents you might want to look into it
 
i went into a shop today but the guy that was helping me seemed clueless and just spit some random shit so he would seem like he knew something....there are several small dents and the area by the ear is pushed in...
 
i think you should be fine but if you hit your head a few more times i think it would be a good choice to get a new one, as soon as you can really start to see the place where its fucked up and feel the difference in ridgeitity (LOL cant spell) its time
