Helmet Camera

Hey guys. I'm looking at buying a helmet camera. I'm looking at Contour HD and Go Pro HD cameras. In your opinion, which one is a better camera. I'm looking for something that I could use when not skiing.

WHY do you ask on NS, for sure everyones gonna tell ya Go-pro budday. And I would because it truly is the best helmet cam you could get. There are so much mount you can put it almost EVERYWHERE!

Right after I started this thread I found a thread asking the same question where everyone suggested using GoPro cameras. However, I'm looking to use a helmet camera for different purposes. I want to use it for hockey and put it on players and put it in the pipes and on the glass. I also want to use it for ski racing at put it on the poles of racers to get a close up of a racers face and by there knees as they go through gates, etc. Would Go Pro better for this or am I better off with Contour HD cameras?

you can never go wrong with a gopro, i have one and its epic.some of the tasks you said sound like the weight of the gopro might inter fear. but it will be fine on the helmets. and with the gopro if you get the sukshon up you can stick it anywhere (stick it to of boards in the corner looking down. it would be a great shot and do a drill with digging for the puck in the corner. great view on the play and skills.
and with the gopro it has a really wide lense. so it gets everything
Reminder i have never used a contour or seen one. so my opinion is kind of one sided. but i know gopro is great. but size/weight is something you might wanna check

one of the things gopro prides itself on is its durability, and with the damn hung of plastic around it i find it hard to believe its going to be broken.

however, having one on a gate might really piss a racer off... it would sure piss me off, they're kind of clunky to be hanging off a gate.
