Helmet and Headphones

I just got a minidisc player for Christmas and skied with it for the first time yesterday and it is the coolest thing ever if you're riding by yourself. When I decided to put my helmet on I ran into some problems...I used my old GameBoy headphones, the little ones that go inside your ear, but they hurt and always popped out. I have plenty of ideas on what I could do to make it all work, but I was just curious about what you guys do that actually works.

get some of those headphones that clip onto the back of your ear and take the ear pads off your helmet. That works as long as you have removable ear flaps.

 
You could do that and lose your ears to frosbite or you could do this......You could buy the little headphone that have that little rubber thing rap around your ear, this way you have the little speaker that fits in your ear and you keep your earflaps and also the rubber thing stops the headphones from moveing around.

it depends on your helmet... I got a giro nine... and I am in the process of installing earphones into my ear-flaps

i have red skycap helmet i just took headphones and put them inside the ear pieces and put the padding back in... when i dont ski with my music i just tuck the wire and jack into my helmet and i never even know its there

 
I have a Giro Flint SC and it's a shell around the ears too (with padding inside them). They have a perfect hole in the ear pads to put headphones in that you wouldn't even have to stick in your ears. It's the perfect setup.

I have a giro flint sc as well, the helmet rocks, and I put headphones inside the ears too. The problem is though, that all I hear is the wind when I am skiing fast, unless the music is cranked, then I can't hear anyone else.

Sell your helmet and use the money to buy a bandana or head band, then go out and buy the Sony MDJ-the big silver something or others. Then buy a pair of oakley A-frames and you'll be all set. you'll look just like Jon or the TRZA

 
haha..you're my new hero...do you know where i can get one used? i am a super ghetto skier and can't afford a bandana...don't get too close though...i might steal your shoes.

what I do is I only use one of the head phones, and I come from behind my ear, wrap it around so its hanging off my ear then put it in, twist it around intill it is good. That way it wont have to suport the .59393 grams of the cord therefor it wont fall out

u should buy one of the helmets with speakers built into them...all u do is connect it to your mini disc and ur set...i dont know how easy these things are to find but my friend has one...its pretty good

small headphones that will fit inside the helmet are the way to go, unless you can sow into it.

If you're that much of a ghetto skier then just use the ones you got that go in your ears, then wrap duct tape around your head. There you have it, all set!

i think it's capix that makes that headphone compatible helemet, but no...its impossible to sell a used helmet and i don't want a new one

I saw a Chad Muska headband with built in headphones. I think it was in CCS or Monsterskate.

you could get a protec and switch the capix headphone earflaps with the protec ones.

i have a protec and those blue sony headphones that wrap around the ear, $10, and the earflaps help keep them on
