So I hate to make this thread...but I need some advice....

My Family is FINALLY taking a ski trip and we are going to colorado. I organized our colledge club trip to Breck two years ago but that is the only place I have been . We stayed in Breck and Skied breck and vail.

My Familly either wants to stay at break or vail (which one has the best after ski sceen?) I am 24 along with my twin sister and I have a 27 year old brother so we want to go out after we ski.

We also want to do 3-4 days skiing, we know we are going to breck and vail, but what other 2 resorts would you suggest?!

Thank you so much for your help and mybe I can buy you a beer when we get up there?!

:)

For the area you specified :

Going out:

Breckenridge has 34 bars and over 60 restaurants

2 new resorts:

In that area Beaver Creek would be a must. If you are looking for a real challenge ski the Poly lift all day at A-Basin. Other than that, Loveland is always fun.

Where did you stay in breck last time you came?

Thanks for the info!

Last time I was at breck I stayed at River Mountain Lodge...there were about 40 of us!

PS I LOVED Colorado

River Mountain is good location, but if your going with a smalelr group and want a really nice property try Mountain Thunder Lodge. It is right by the gondola and they have sick places. Ive been working there for the past 2 seasons. Its a great place to work and a great place to stay.

I have stayed at the tanhauser in breck before...pretty cheap condos with multiple rooms so it wouldnt be everyone piled into one room...easy walking distance from the lift at the base of peak 9...pretty much the perfect location. Tons of great bars, its like 100 yards from the breckenridge brewery so i just wanted to throw that out there

go a little further north and go to steamboat if that is an option. Summit is nice but not the best steamboat has better snow and is a chill town

the people of steamboat suck so much, never have I found such rude ass wanna be ski cowboy posers

Steamboat certainly attracts a bunch of ski cowboy posers, but I definitely wouldn't say thats true of the people that live there. They get great snow and don't have the same crowding issues that summit places do. It is out of the way tho, and im sure if you are getting a vail resorts package deal, you'll be at vail resort mountains. Definitely hit up Beaver creek.

either way, for what you wanna do brek is going to be the best party scene. i might be wrong, but im pretty sure Freeskier just named it as THE party place to be this winter. Vail is awesome to ride, but too many rich stuck up a-holes, and most of the bars are super pricey. if you want a quality "young" bar, check out the George on bridge street in vail if you must. Otherwise summit county has everything a young person needs.

but ski everywhere. just drink @ brek.

yah, listen to all these people, theyre soooooo right...dont ever EVER come over here to the west side of vail pass...everything over here sucks...trust me...

No homo?

She's 24 and has a twin sister, Knox. That means your chances are now 0 x 2!

On a more serious note, consider Vail/BC - huge acreage to ski/explore, quality nightlife in Vail, and a well-educated, courteous gentleman (ie, me) at your every beck and call.

zero times two is 200, right?

not all of us went to dartmouth, but at least my school didnt let you major in pejorative air masturbation

I like the scene at breck personally but vail can be just as fun too. Oh...and my brother and I are identical twins. word. yay for twins.

Thank you all for the info! I would really like to ski everything...but mainly pow and steep+pow+

ok one more question.....Is there a pass that you can ski multiple resorts. (I know about the epic pass) but is there like an interchangeable lift ticket that works at multiple resorts too so you dont have to buy the whole epic pass?

i think what she means is do lift tickets work multiple places
and yes, but there are conditions: if you buy a lift ticket at breck or key, it works at breck and key and i THINK a-bay...but not vail or beave
if you buy a lift ticket at beave or vail, it works at all 5...what this means is that if you come stay at vail, for example, and buy a 6 day ticket online at a discount, that 6 day lift ticket is good at vail, beave, breck, key, and a-bay...if youre only planning on being here for like a week then that's a pretty good deal, i think buying online in advance saves about 40%
but if youre like my brother and plan on being here for 3 weeks this winter, buy an epic pass
