Hello big brother.

how is this not a good thing? Basically they're taking all the information they already have and putting it together so they have a faster better and more accurate database. Have you ever watched an episode of CSI? These databases catch criminals. They save lives.

Well. Not ALL of them. Some of those things where they can pull info out of blurry videos, and find huge amounts of evidence of a flake of paint or something, alot of them are dramatized. In general alot of it is real though. It also takes weeks to run some of those tests...but that would make kinda boring TV haha.

Sure they have the power to do good, but what happens when such power is abused? Fuck That. The government is already fucking with protesters against the war (woman was followed around by the fbi for attending a protest), so can you imagine in 20 years what this will be like? Cameras everywhere able to match your identity in seconds...creating a completely controlled society. It can only get worse. 1984.

Errhemhem, and I quote;

"Terminal velocity is 9.8 meters per second squared, so that mean it must have taken the man 5 seconds to fall from this 5 story building."

Fuck this. If this shit gets implemented, our generation needs to rebel and fuck with the system. WE cant let the governent control us. 1984 here we come if this happens. Before you know it America will have telescreens and everyone will be wearing blue overalls.

what the hell? soooooooooo wrong it's not even funny. was it too hard to use one equation that I learned at the very beginning of physics to find something like this out so instead they had to come up with some bs?

The concept of what they're trying to do is scary. The fact of the matter is though, this is the government we're talking about. Have you ever heard of a project like this actually working? Five bucks says it takes two times as long and costs five times as much as they projected and still sucks.

jesus dont shit your pants. just dont do any felonies and the government wont be to worried about you and you dont have to be worried about them. How does it feel living life feeling like the world is out to get you, I couldnt do it.

that scares me, soon we'll have people editing the news, and rigging elections, and they will start trying to make it illegal to say certain words...

ohh.. hang on...

if you walk through the streets in england you will be on camera an average of 4000 times in one day. it's already begun...

I should add,

Your private information is no longer private to: the government, hackers, spies, large corporations, banks, health care system...

Yeah, there's this company called Axciom that makes its money of of selling your personal information to big corporations. This includes everything from your social security number to whether or not you're obese.

Because they front themselves as a company with good business ethics. Much of their business is companies who need a very specific mailing list or something similar such as a targeting a certain neighborhood with obese males over 60 with health problems.

You all automatically assume that this is going to be abused. This is just a big database, if you don't commit a crime, it won't affect you

honestly, if this was the cia it would worry me much more (even though they already have similar projects in place). The FBI doesn't even have a central computer system.

Yeah, how would you like it someone knows you better than yourself? Image a guy walk up to your house and tell you everything he knows about you, height, date of birth, social insurance number, education, final marks in high school, bank statements and you dont even know this guy's first name.

Also, people can sell your personal information for a large amount of money. This would lead to identity theft, commercialism in your face 24/24.

I dont want anyone to know about my personal life.

First of all, they aren't going to know Everything about you. And even if they do, it's not that big of a deal.

Government agent walks up to your house. He found your address in the phone book. He works for the FBI. Right there, he can already easily have access to your SS#, date of birth, insurance etc. They already have this power.

What it sounds like to me is that they are just trying to make a compiled database of all the smaller ones for KNOWN CRIMINALS. If you haven't committed a major felony, I highly doubt they would waste the space on you. It is an effort to prevent criminals and aid in their detection in heinous crimes.

In addition to that, it's the FBI and I'm sure it will be a very tightly controlled database. There won't be private companies with the information, just waiting to sell your info to the highest bidder. I'm not sure where you get that idea from.

And they won't be knowing about your personal life. Just because they know you are enrolled in a public university and your SS# is 126-05-1234 doesn't mean they know anything personal about you.
