so i was gonna get the k2 hellbents 169 and i am 5 11. but i dont know if they are to much... i love park and rails and boxes. mainly jumps! can i still get these and have an awesome time pullin sick stuff in the park?
well actually 5 10. sorry but yeah i wanted to.. but i dont know if it is to wide to shred it up on rails and boxes. and also kickers. i have never skid a ski that wide or rockered
i am 511 and have the 179s. unless you are not a very strong skier i would stay away from the 169s.
my 179s are about an inch taller than i am. a great ski, but dont expect to ski anything but pow on it.
its fun to mess around on for a couple of hours, then you realize that you might as well go put on some real park skis and stop wasting your time. (if there is not pow) or break out a different pair that is more suited to ski more terrain than pow.
yeah see i have some ross scratches from a few years ago but they are tiny.. 158's and super skinny... i just feel like they wont stabalize me on rails and that i cant get balance with them
you should take a look at line blends. they are 100 underfoot and can still go in the park but shred everywhere else. they are a bit stiffer but that will help to stomp bigger jumps. i love blends because of how wide they are and how versitile they are.
ha i my bestfriends rides on those. and loves them and thats the type of ski im looking for.. but i dont want to get the same skis as him as gay as that sounds.. ha
what about the dumonts? are those wide skis cause im looking a website and just the ski 2010 is going for 450? good price? what size should i get 161? 171? im pretty much 5 10
You should NOT[/i] get 169 Hellbents if you're 5'11. I ski on 169 bents and am 5'5. They ski super short because of the rocker. Get the 179s, you will be much happier. Theyre sick skis though.
The hellbent is literally nothing like the Line ski mentioned above.
someone can correct me if i am wrong, but without going and checking my bents are 120something under foot. ( a HUGE step up from 100) and these things are absolute noodles. nothing stiff about them.
dont get me wrong they are awesome, but i seriously doubt they are the ski you are looking for.
i would look into the Kung Fujas if i were you. sounds much more up your alley.
it's the width of the ski underfoot. Skis usually have three dimensions that will go something like 134-101-120, the first number is the width at the nose, the middle number is how wide it is at the middle of the ski, and the last number is the width at the tail. If' you're looking for a wider park ski look for something around to 90 underfoor range, and probably at least 175 in length, a longer ski will give you more stability
Bro you really just need to get a pair of park skis. Then you should buy a pair of pow skis, whatever ones look the sickest and have the best dimensions for you. Then if its a great day with some fresh snow or if you're hitting up the backcountry you can use your powder skis over the park skis.
dude marcus there are a ton of skis kind of like the blends that you could get. If you only want to ski in the park then get a park ski. But if you want all mountain you could get the blends kung fujas, surface watch or green lifes there are tons of possibilities
I have Lizzies also. They are super fun skis, and if you want a wider park ski, it would be much better than the Hellbent. Theyre really fun, super mellow. Spinnings more fun than ever, and theyre really stable on rails as well. They would be a great choice for a wider park ski.
The elizabeths are exactly what you want. Super playful and buttery much like the hellbents but they're made for the park. They are 110mm underfoot instead of most park skis around 85mm which gives you a stable platform to land on.
Also check the Anthem, prob not as wide as you like but it's another wider buttery park ski. The Anthem is completely symetric which is good if you want to do a lot of switch skiing.
