Hellbents- who rides em

I'm taking mine in to be mounted today so I'll come back and post later this week. I'm actually pretty skeptical about the rocker design, so I won't be going in with a "rockers are so cool!!!11!!" biased without even skiing them.
 
I have EP Pros and like them, surprisingly they aren't that bad on groomers, you can carve a turn, but they are so fun for jibbing around, whether there is new snow or now. moguls? find something else. I noticed a lot of people with Hellbents this year, people seem to like them. EP pros aren't hellbent, but similar..
 
The rocker design on the EP is alot different then the Hellbents, the EP's have alot more edge to grip with on groomers because its the early rise system
 
theyre so fun man. butters are so easy. so sick for jumps. havnt got to ride a signifigant amount of pow yet so cant tell ya about that.
 
I've got a pair. I was a little apprehensive about the skis because I had never ridden anything this wide and with this type of camber and also thought they would be too short(179's). I bought these as my powder skis only and they did not dissapoint me. Took them out on a big powder day and it was effortless(snow was heavy and deep), felt like I was cheating actually. On groomers they were actually fun, turn quicker than expect and had a nice fat stable platform to land on. Tips tended to flap at higher speeds but didn't really feel a loss of control. I've only had a day on them, so take it for what it's worth. After the two week honeymoon is over is when I'll know for sure.
 
they are my only ski right now, except for last years ak enemys which my dad is using. and i love the bents dood. sooo great, sooo fun. i love them, they are so playful
 
I ski on them and they make me smile. In powder, rocker is simply amazing, once you get it, you will never ever want a cambered ski again in soft, variable or crusty snow, it really is that much more fun. As for groomers, yes you can actually carve the ski, you almost ski them with both legs as opposed to really pressuring and outside ski if that makes sense. If somebody says they don't work on hardpack, they don't know how to ski in the first place. The HellBent is not a park ski, granted some people use it for park and do just fine, i.e. Andy Mahre, but it really excels in other conditions. If you get a chance to ski them, you are stoked, we sold out the first week of September.
 
I've got Z12's on mine to keep it as light as possible, weight for my pair is 10.6 without bindings. Z12's don't seem to have a good rep, but I haven't had any problems with the one's that I've used.
 
Any rockered ski is amazing in pow, obviously, windblown, slush, crud, etc. Any conditions that usually can grab your ski are just skipped over.
 
I've ridden them in the park, all i can say is use them for what they were designed for, soft snow.
 
i havent ridden mine yet, but definately gonna pull em out over christmas break cuz i'm so friggin STOKED!!! the rocker looks pretty sick, but i've never ridden a rockered ski before so we'll see... SO STOKED!!!

these are all good points, i may have to pick some up if i ever get a chance to get some for cheap..
 
I skied them a couple times now. They deffinetly are awesome in any kind of pow. Just float and turn so easily. I have the 189s mounted with some FKS btw. When it started to get skied out and choppy hard packed, they were still awesome. Just flying over everything and deffinetly powering through even big bumps. Then I went over for a little park skiing. They were alright. I mean the main crappy thing I noticed it just they're so damn heavy to ski in the park. I could still do switch ups and 270s on/out, but it's deffinetly not preferred. They still get plenty of pop and stuff. I wasn't able to do any nice jumps with them, because there weren't any yet. But I will soon. They actually still really do carve totally fine on hard groomed runs. They ski like theyre not even rockered. Just like my old Madens. Overall I'm happy with them. Really nice for charging, but when I throw my T-Halls back on, it really makes it sooo much better to ski the park.
 
i have the ep's and skied the hellbents a couple times last year, if its your only ski get the hell bents, i have a decent quiver so i got the ep's and tour on them, took the to lake louise with no fresh just to see how the handled, groomers were good, the bump filled back bowls was hellish, needless to say the ep's are now my strict touring boards cause they love the deep stuff, hell bents we're definitly manigible on everything
 
use them for everything. just dont do what one of the k2 pros over here did and ride rails. they are not designed for it and he had edge problems... not that you use them on the hellbents mind you...
 
i rip them for ski touring and riding on the hill....they are pretty solid....damage easy .....i wouldnt say you need something that nuts if you arnt riding constantly tho....good for hard shredders
 
ive seen alot of ep pros, i think eveyone was like damm hellbent hype is big ill get ep's

but then eveyone thought the same thing
 
i seen a kid last week on ep pros and he was always getting off the chair where its only groomers.

the only people i've seen with hellbents are ski patrol.

i want to demo some hellbents and or eps.
 
I skied a pair the other day, they are fun. Hardpack feels like your on a pair of snowlerblades but they ski great if you just stay centered. I'd never buy them though, noodles.
 
Where do you all mount them? how are they there? would you like them further back or further forward????
