HELLBENTS OR PETTITORS

I ride the K2 Kung Fujas and want a pow ski for that I would only use on pow days. I'm 6'4'' and 155 pounds(yes I know I need to eat some burgers, and some fries, and some bacon...). So I'm trying to decide between the K2 Pettitor and the K2 Hellbent. Does anyone know how the Kung Fujas flex compares to the Hellbent flex, aren't they both pretty similar? I'm leaning toward the Pettitor because since I'm sking in AK I think it will be more confident and do better on steep lines and sometimes even on deep pow days snowboarders will make the chutes icy in places and I don't know if the Hellbent will grip good. The Hellbent seems super fun and the best for untracked pow, but I just don't know how it would be in tracked pow, crud, steeps, and I know it's heavy so the Pettitor prolly has a much better swing weight. For the Pettitor, I'm worried it might be too stiff, cuz I like soft skis, and maybe not enough float. IDK though. Thanks for the help in advance and k+. Also we get wet heavy snow a lot more than light pow. Sometimes I see people charging the Hellbents even when it hasn't snowed in a week. What do you guys think?

To be honest I'd go Petitors Since their more versatile than the Bents, and they'll be more reliable in less than ideal conditions. Also the stiffer flex will be appreciated as you progress and you start skiing steeper and faster and going bigger. I wouldn't be put off by the flex of the Petitors compared to the Bents, Petitors are not a super stiff ski. Sorry if they're are parts of this that don't make sense, I'm on mobile.

Owned bents for 3 years and love them. Not a fan of the petitior didnt suit my style at all

weight wise they are the same.

hellbent are fine in choppy snow although a ;little floppy, but my mate rides his in the park and loves them.

if you could try ski on both to try first.. they ski very different.

I lived in anchorage and skied at alyeska up until about 2 years ago. This year I came up for the chugach open when it snowed a shit-ton. I was skiing on pettitors when I was there this year and they were great with everything from tricks to big airs in ragdoll and lolos. I have also skied hellbents and they are really good in deep soft snow but they were slightly less nimble in my opinion. If you want to do more tricks and shit I would choose pettitors but if you just want a fun stable pow ski choose the hellbents.

i would go with the pettitors. hellbents are a VERY soft snow oriented ski; there's not too much versatility to them. on super deep days jibbing around they will be great and fun and all, but once you take them into chopped up crud or start charging hard on them they'll flap harder than your moms pussy lips.

the pettitors will be soft snow oriented as well, but they will be much more versatile when you ski mashed taters because of the narrower waist and stiffer flex.

and i'm guessing you will be skiing inbounds so the pow pow is bound to get tracked out. go with the pettitors!

If you're worried about the stiff flex of the pettitors, don't be. They're super burly in the camber section right under the foot, and transition very abruptly into a fairly soft tip and tail. So if you're looking to surf/throw butters and whatnot, the pettitors would be an excellent choice. It's not going to be as stable rallying through crud as something like, say, an on3p caylor or a moment bibby pro, but it'll still be miles ahead of the hellbent in any sorry of variable conditions.

depends on your riding style, i've ridden hellbents and think they're an awesome ski to toy around with on deep days and in the trees, or simply a very fun ski to jib, however if you want to ride a bit harder and are not scared of riding steeper lines, i'd say the pettitors are more your thing....

Thanks guys. Pettitor sounds more for me, but I just found out I can get the Bent Chetlers for cheaper. Have any of you rid it and what do you think of it? I like K2, but I'd be willing to try Atomic since it's a better deal.

I ride Bentchetlers and they're probably my favorite ski of all time. They are so playful and buttery its insane, yet they're still stable and don't flop. I would definitely go with bentchetlers over pettitors or hellbents any day, especially for alaska snow and terrain.

Pettitor. It slays EVERYTHING.

The HellBent was designed for pure pow. People have enjoyed skiing it in a multitude of conditions, but at he end of the day, it's a pow ski when you compare it to the versatility designed into Sean's pro model.

Thanks guys. I think I'll go get some Pettitors. Hey schmies is K2 coming out with a fatter ski then the Pettitor next year to replace the Hellbent? Aren't you guys working on that and when will it be out? Thanks.

your call man, I would still say bentchetlers though. They're like the best of both the petttitors and hellbents and A litttle bit more. Your choice though.
