Hellbents or ARG

hello i'm about 5'11 and like 145 pounds and i'm looking for a pure pow BC ski what one would be a better ski for me thanks

havent ridden either but for pure pow the ARV's look dam fine but then again so do the hellbents if your looking to mess around

have you thought about something smaller. if its going to be your bc ski you arent going to want to hike with a shitton of weight. and at your weight you can probably get a lot of float out of a smaller and narrower and lighter ski.

I already have seths for all mountain at a 169 size. I like the feel of a bigger waist for pow like in the 115+ i tryed the prophet 130 and there fun in deep pow

Ive been looking at the two also, it seems like the arg is better for charging and speed, where as the hellbents not so much.

They're really two completely different skis, so you'll have to make a decision of exactly what you're going to do with them. I'd only use ARG's if there was 6"+ of new snow, but the Hellbents would probably be fun in any sort of soft snow. Hellbents would definitely get the nod for versatility out of the two you've picked, although they'd both be fun for sure. I've only talked to people who have ridden these though, so hearing from someone firsthand who has ridden both would probably be a better way to make a decision than listening to me. Also, do you want a rockered ski, or is this just an idea you're throwing out?

well there both pretty soft skis, the hellbent is a bit softer and playful but wil not hold up at high speed/chargin as well as the ARG, the ARG also will give u less off a chanse of catching an edge while skiing pow if it really enoys u

yeah they are different skis but they are meant for the same thing "powder". so i think its a fair question that he is asking.

for just pow, you have no need for the sidecut on the hellbents, so I would say ARGs. Oh and the flex is pretty unimportant in a rockered design, so long as it's not a total noodle.

From what I remember, ARGs were probably the stiffest skis I have ever felt. They don't flex, they are WAY stiffer than ANTS.

exactly. the arg and hellbents aren't in quite the same catagory. he didn't say anything about freestyle so i'd say arg.

Sorry, but i think you are off here, to tell the kidd to come back and do some research really doesnt help him and its unfounded.

If he is looking for a BC ski to hit some booters, land switch in pow, ski switch in pow and rip some pow lines than both of these skis would be great. Where as the pontoon would suck at most of the above mentioned.

Not the stiffest ski I ever felt, Squads are ridiculous and Legend Pros are also super stuff, but the ARGs are the stiffest skis Armada makes. Both the ARGs and Hellents would be good, ARGs are better in pow and for charging, but Hellbents are a little more well rounded and you'll probably be able to ride them more often.

And Hellbents run huge. The 179 is like a 184, and the 189 measures longer than a 194 Squad. Fucking huge ski.

dude arg's are not stiff!

for a pure pow ski i would go with the arg's but if you are looking to ride it anywhere other than pow, i.e. the occasional groomer or run through the park then go with the hellbent's because the arg's reverse camber make it pretty much impossible to ski anywhere other than pow.

args are reverse sidecut and reverse camber while the hellbents are just reverse camber, they hellbents look sick tho I just saw them in person today so I'd definetly get those they seem like such a fun ski

Then we disagree becaus i think they would be great for 3's off cliffs and booters. They are way light and the center mount or close to center mount would make them great for spinning. So back to the point, why not compare and consider both.
