Hellbents in the Park

i finally got to ride my Hellbents yesterday. Went up to Park City all they had was rails and boxes so i used my Hellbents and loved every minute of it. Rails are actually easier with them cuz they are so big. And one guy said my skis looked weird and i said "left em out in the sun and they got warped" haha

what do you think of fat skis in the Park?

idk about hellbents, because i've never ridden them, but wide skis in general are more fun. my tha 187's are so sick for buttering around and jumping and shit. so light too, its weird. i want to try some hellbents soon just to see what the ski is like. and really 3 or 4 cm is nothing in difference to the average park skis.

i got the 189's pretty dope can butter effortlessly they really measure like 193 its crzy but i'm a big kid so it works

Have fun in the pipe and on any jump of any reasonable size!!

Personally, I think it's foolish to get a ski, such as the Hellbent, for park. I mean honestly. you're so limited its not even funny. But that's me.

Not to mention I wouldn't want a ski that soft with that crappy of a core.

I have been seeing alot of kids with hellbents and ep pros in the park this year... but it seems like they cant really do anything tech

they arent meant to be solely used in the park. and they sacrifice responsiveness for what they are built to do. if yu have ridden a J.O. pro yu would know how quick and nimble those skis feel and they have a 78 waist or something. of course they arent gonna be very techy with a ski that has so much space underfoot. but dont worry about them. theyre just following trends.

isn't that part of the whole direction pep andy and pollard are trying to impliment?

away from who can do doubles or a sw 14 with a longest grab, or who will do a 270 on pretzel 360

sw up, and towards making tricks look effortless and smooth, and slow. which you lose when you go techy-poo.

i like it. and i like the tech. and i like skiing with poles and without poles. so there.

I think its dope. I just didnt go for it this year cause I get almost no powder skiing so I couldn't ratonailize the purchase of such wide skis.

a friend of mine is riding his melees in the park. 120 under foot and 187cm long. its crazy

how big are you. i've been thinking of the 179 for just fuckin around cuz i already have big skis (187's) so i dont know if i want 193's.

hellbents psssh. it's all about the pontoons....

I saw you up here, try to make it out monday or tuesday, it's been bare on those days, not crowded at all.

if they were going to spend that much money for just that it would be better to invest in some pipe cleaners or STLs

i always found the seth vicous to be very versatile, but one thing i have noticed is that when the ski gets fatter it becomes a lil more goofy in the air. may not be the case for everyone probs something to get used to.

i used them on sunday

they are hard as fuck to spin with. they arnt responsive. i didnt notince htat much a of a difference actually on rails while the rail is under your boot. i felt less confeditent with them wen i was hitting jumps cause they are sooooo noodley wen u get speed.

if your only riding park they would suck but if u have the  money for them and u have pow for them then i think they would rock

so bottem line they would suck for a one ski quiver out east or only riding park

I have been riding the hellbents non stop since the season started and i have to say they are the shit. All brighton has is rails and boxs and they handle great on both. Yeah you have to put a little extra effort into 270ing on rails but your rewarded with a smooth spin and even landing on the rail. I swear that it takes effort fall on these skies. I haven't being able to do any blind side switch ups yet but im close. I have to come to the conclusion that the idea that fat skis can't do well in the park is a myth. I don't think it would be that difficult to land a switch 10 or even a 14 giving the right rider and big enough jump, and plus it would probalby look alot smoother to

yeah i saw some dude at mt st louis in ontario with them this past weekend and i thought they were sick but totally retarted do use them out here.

I think its fun and new....... I wouldn't buy them just cause thats not the type of skier i am....... for anyone who wants to do slow stuff, steezy, and keep it mellow then fuckin go for it ahahahhaa.

Just remember that u buy a ski to suit your style. I ride AR6 cause that allows me to ski the way i want, If u buy FATTY's for park then ur goin to be doin slow, controlled moves.

i love my ep's and i ride them everywhere.

they lay trenches on the groomers, even switch (ive never felt more comfortable carving switch on any other ski to tell you the truth). the park is super fun on them. butters are effortless, literally. i love it.

they get kinda squirrelly in tracked out pow/crud and whatnot just because they are soft as fuck, but they can still motor thru it if you arent to lazy. they feel pretty torsionally stiff, which i feel helps so much in the crud and chunder.

with that said, ive never ridden hellbents.

i've been using 'Bents in the park too, and they are THE SHIT. you think Pep and Andy would use them for damn near everything if they weren't sick as hell????

and ive seen him doing it and it looks sick as fuck. im jealous. i almost want a pair, but im not dropin that much cash

You sir, have the best icon on NS

And i have an EP Pro i havent mounted yet, can't wait to butter around on them

this is about right...i ride seths in the park but theyre not reverce camber or as fat as the hb.

trend, that is debateable i personally like a fat asss ski and it is perfect for me becuase i dont enjoy getting techy on rails i jsut enjoy stttteeezzzing them out and for jumps i dont do big spins so they work fine and for the ppwpwwwwww and bg mountain WOW!  thats some sick shit

Reverse camber is just that....reverse camber.

Rocker means it's flat (or slightly cambered) underfoot and it rises at one or both ends.

helbents seem like they would be sweet in the park, ive seen a couple people riding them and it rally makes more shit possible.  the only thing that sucks is that they are just big and wide as fuck,  something like the seth would be perfect.
