so i am priveleged enough to know some very nice people who hooked me up with some very nice skis. i thought i'd let you guys know my thoughts before i mount, as i saw some people wondering about the build on these. rocker is gnarly, not as insane as the toons but almost. cant wait to ski it. the ski is real soft, which i expected. construction looks super solid and the ski is lighter than i assumed it would be, but thats without bindings. guna mount tru center, only way to go with this ski. i'll write a full review once i've skiied them. yayer!

i think maybe because they are rockered. so i think it might defeat the purpose. if they werent mounted true center. i doubt im right though.

its because thats where the ski was designed to be mounted, because even at center the rocker allows u to float

wow those are pretty big for a 179

i guess if im 5'6 then the 189s i was gonna get will be massive

up to you. if i was guna use these to charge, i would probably go 189, altho this isnt really a charging ski. get pontoons for that...i am guna use these for pow cliffs BC hits. so 179 is money, and ur shorter than me

how does the measure work on these. I mean 179cm=~70.4 inches, 5'10.4ish, seeing you 5'7, that seems way more the 3 inches of difference, or i just have bad eyes

ive heard that the 179 measures out to be 186 and the 189 measures to be 194 and both of those measurements are with the tape measure pressed against the topsheet

holy shit those things are monsters, so jealous man

post pics/review when you get them in the snow!

Dude, don't mount em' centre, go at least 2cm back. You won't notice much on switch landings but it will be that little bit easier to ski on the groomed stuff.

damn bro, those things look massive next to you. You'll definitely need to let us know how they ride. I'm considering either these or the seths.

For general ripping, the Toon seems to be too soft. I swear, McConkey spends a great deal of time in a manual on those things.

you're gonna have fun on those beasts. i didnt get to ski them in anywhere near the amount of fresh snow i would have liked, but in the little bit i had, they were so much fun. buttering in powder is a fun experience.

Holy shit, I am so jealous of you right now. I for sure want to hear how they ride all over the hill in varying conditions, what bindings are you putting on them?

Same rocker as the Pontoon and the ski looks longer because we put a larger tail height on it. Enjoy.

Scmies nice work on the graphics man. Theyre amazing as usual.

The Hellbents look mad. Im definetly gonna get a pair.

ahh word. well i compared them to my coworkers 189 pontoons, probably why the toons looked like they had more rocker.

they measure the topsheet not counting tips and tails I think (cause they don't touch the snow) which is why they look longer, and with a rockered ski, you can get a larger ski like that even if you're small, because of the decreased running area on the ski. basically big sticks still ski short, but you get the extra floatation in pow

Yah, I measured the running edge on these it was about 90 centimeters or so. Everything past 90 started curving upwards, and on groomers wouldnt really touch the snow.

probably $650-$700 at the beginning of the season, I think they are supposed to be the same price as the AK's

I have a friend who has a pair of them, mounted close to center, and he says they are pretty fun in the park and pow.

ha, yea i have red hair. and no claim, i heard a lot of people asking about the construction/camber of the hellbents, just helping people out.
