Hellbent vs Obsethed (K2 Seth) ------- Your opinion?

I'm probably moving out to Whistler next ski season and I don't have a pair of powder skis. Between the Hellbent and the Obsethed which would you recommend? I will be using these solely for powder, trees, and the occasional groomer. I have park skis so I don't care about park performance.

Please give reasons

If its just deep pow id say hellbents, if your gonna be charging harder obsethed, really dont think u could go wrong with ither though

well it depends if you want a ski that can ski the occasional bumps/groomers too, because if that is the case then go obsethed...

Get the bents, you won't be sorry! I have always had and loved a pretty stiff ski, even in pow. I got the 189 hell bents and I ski them everywhere. Yes, they are noddles, but soooo much fun. I still have karmas and gotamas, but I always ski on my demon skis with devil power.

i know several people with hellbents and they all say the same thing, they are sick. but the new obsethed i believe has rockered now and would be good or charging and skiing on days where there isnt a whole lot of snow. either way i think you would be happy. i would still say hellbents though

If you plan on just skiing with them, the Hellbents are better for pow performance...but if you plan on doing some touring, then the Seths are better due to the fact that your skins will have more surface area contacting the snow.

If your a charger type, Obsethed. There stiffer.

If you like to jib around in pow and nothing too fast or steep, Hellbents are sick.

I love my Hellbents, there really not as bad on groomers as people say. Heck, I and alot of people ride them in the park.

if you're building up a quiver, hellbents can't be beat on super deep days. footprint is so big on them its almost impossible not to land airs unless you land on your head.

but think of all the runout roads at whistler too. i rented pontoons there two years ago and ate shit on the blackcomb glacier road (near the beginning where its super fast) because johnny-turns-a-lot in front of me and pontoons on hardpack didn't get along. although my hellbents ride groomers much better than the pontoons did.

Firstly, ignore anybody who gives you a one word answer with no explanation. Chances are they have never skied either of the skis and base their opinion purely on what they saw Pep/Seth do in movies.

I havn't spent any time on the Obsethed but I've checked it out in the shops and skied a lot on the 08 Seths and Hellbents. If you're going to be charging more big mountain style stuff, or touring like Andy said, definately jump on the Seths. They are of course a bit more versatile all mountain. If you're more into skiing a little slower and jibbing stuff, landing switch, etc. then the hellbents are a dream. I'm a fairly big guy so I found them too soft for really charging but they are by far the funnest ski to jib around on. Its ridiculous how many possibilities the skis alone give you.

Pretty much you cant go wrong with either of these. Sick skis

I ski whistler. I haven't skied the obsethed yet (apparently it is fucking sick!) but if you have a two ski quiver you could definitely get away with hellbents a lot of the time. Unless you want to charge a lot, the hellbents are a lot of fun. I skied them on a day with no fresh, just cut up stuff and groomers and they were fine. More than fine, pretty fun even considering the conditions. They are much more versitile than my ARGs.

I ski the 08 seth..I live in Colorado...there not my only ski...i have the JO's so i can get away having a fatter ski for just pow days....I DO wish i bought the bents for skiing pow..there not bad on groomers as long as your not doing groomers all day.

why does every one keep bring up the 08 seth? IT IS NOTHING like the new ski. NOTHING. The new obsethed is a slightly narrower, slightly stiffer, and less rockered then the bent.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold the phone. Yes they are pretty different. but the obsethed is Wider (105mm), and More rockered (they extended the rocker farther into the ski).

Am i the only person who liked the graphics on the 2008 Sehts more than these? Anyways, if you want a rockered ski for powder go with the Hellbents. K2 says they added rocker to the new seths, which they did, but its still so small i doubt it'll make much of a difference.

If you're still debating over which to get... just look at the Hellbents.......

id go for the hellbents but it also depends on ur riding style but probaly hellbents they hold up on grooms and the king in pow and if u already have a park ski its a no brainer o yeah ive seen people riding them in the park (other than andy and pep) just done land back seat

GO WITH THE BENTS

Haha, nice to see my thread get bumped.....well I'm still deiciding between the two and to tell you the truth I think I'm leaning towards the Obsethed....reason: I already have park skis so that's not an issue. I just feel like the Hellbents won't be that great for days where it isn't dumping but it isn't hard pack, you know what i mean? Those in between days where you just wanna have fun charging glades or hitting up some chutes....I think the Obsethed is just a more versatile BC ski. Am I right? I mean, look at the guy who the skis are named after!

i think thats a good choice. i also think that people might be giving you the impression that seths sink compared to hellbents. not true. 105 underfoot is still pertty huge and with even the mini-rocker, they probably wont dive. and they are def a more versatile ski.
i say obsetheds. thats what ill be getting

obsethed, it's good for everything, a good whistler ski because hellbents are geared for a shit load of powder whereas the obsethed can do it all, and it's not like in whistler it's either park or bottomless powder, there's a lot in between and the obsethed can cover all of that
