Hellbent sizing & recommendations

hi guys,

just snapped my skis today and need to grab something tomorrow morning since i'm in BC on vacation. I'm looking at 179 hellbents, i'm 6'2 200lbs will those be too small for some light powder riding, mostly trees and such?

Also, any recommendations for the mounting point for these skis? I already have park skis so these are just for cruising, i was thinking -1 or -2?

And any good alternatives to this ski would be appreciated

+k for solid answers, thanks!

I'd go 189. you could handle them easy, and you wont regret having the extra tip/tail. mount them -2 and you will have a blast.

i wanted longer but they only have 179 unfortunately, i know it's a little short but they're more of a ski for vacations and the odd pow day seeing as i live on the east coast. Thanks for the help though! +k

Did you get 179? I hope you don't find those too short, you might though. If you're still looking, look into a 194 Surfacr New Life. 122 in the waist, symmetrical dimensions and flex. Stiffer ski. It's the perfect size for your height and weight

i haven't bought them yet, but i'm leaning towards it. I'm looking mainly for something for riding trees so i figure 179 will be maneuverable, albeit probably a little on the short side. What I want to know I guess is if I'm riding trees and tight stuff, will they still be unreasonably short and soft?

I'm used to riding at 182 centermounted rockered park ski, so i figure they'll feel about the same if i set them at -2.

But thanks man!

Just given your stats alone I can tell you that they'll feel too soft and short. This might make you feel unstable when it comes to higher speeds. Plus you might wash out on landings. I'd seriously consider looking into an alternative. I just feel that it'll be too uncomfortable for you. I'm 6'3", 175lbs, and any powder ski below 186 is too small and unstable for me.
