Hellbent question

is it true that they run 5 cm's longer then they say they are?

i am looking into getting some but i know i would get ass raped by the 179 in this case, and i might outgrow the 169 to fast.

^you'd be surprised, unless you're like a legit midget you shouldn't really have any problems. they ski really short on groomers etc b/c of the rocker, and the extra length will just help in deep snow. they are a very soft forgiving ski. try out the 179's, you won't be disapointed

I'm 6'3 and got the 179's. My justification for not getting the 89's is that the 79's measure like exactly the same as the EP's (185).. and I was sold on those till I saw the new 08/09 bents. Also the fact that I don't like super heavy skis, don't expect to be hitting enormous cliffs, etc. I want them to be quick and agile for summit co. trees.. 79's fit the bill over 89's.

So for you.. maybe thats more justification for 69's.. however if you're growing like crazy think 79.

the ski skis alot smaller than it is because the rocker is so big .... so basicly... go big or go home
get the 189, its really like a 194... but i think you can handle it...just sac up and get the massive one ahah

how big are your feet? just wondering because I honestly think those are gonna feel tiny. Hellbents have a big rocker and are made to be mounted more towards the center, so those are gonna feel real short. Im 6'2 and im getting 189s, tried 179s and they felt wayy too short.

i also ski on my friends pontoons sometimes in a 169, and those feel really short and im 5'8 ... plus like he said ^^^^ there is a way bigger rocker on the hellbents ... dont get a 169, i think you will regret it

I have like a 316 BSL mounted core center.. I don't really see how'd they be that much different than an EP. I held the two together and they are exactly the same height, The EP has maybe 2 cm more contact length.. and I know plenty of peeps around my height on EP's. So I really don't think they'll be too short.

you are wise. i'm an inch or two taller than you with centermounted 189s. the only time i notice how big they are is when i sideslip into a chute or try to fit them in my jeep.

Im 5'6-7, and 140, and i have the 179's and they are a perfect length. The reverse camber makes them feel shorter, but the added length helps in powder.

im 5'8" and just a hair under 120 lbs and i have the 179s they rip do not worry about size with hellbents it doesnt matter that much unless u just plain suck at skiing

didnt wanna make a thread but, ive got 179 seths right now and get made tip dive on em, theyr at core but still its ridikulous. id deffinetly go for 189s in seths, but in the bents im wondering if the 189 mounted like 2 back from center would be alot to swing around in the trees. im a good skier, 5'11" one sixty.

^^ mine are at core and they turn pretty damn quick. they'll seem massive when you hold them, but they shrink once they're on your feet.

I'm 6'2 and the 189's are a couple inchs past my head, it's crazy.

Not saying the wouldnt be skiable, becasue we all know how short they ski, but it might just be ALOT of physical ski - bumping and cathing on things, that's the only thing.

^that was one of my issues. I think they'd be clunky in the stuff I'll be trying to get to. Its just so much ski. The 79's are right to the top of my head.

I skied on the Hellbents, and they are sooo sick.  I feel like short skis aren't very effective in powder, and the179's seem like your best choice.  I am about 5'10'' and the 179s were perfect, especially the closer to center you mount them.

i wish i had this issue. it is such a good one really. instead it is, will this ski hold up on ice, rails and POS landings for a season? fuckkkkkkk

if he is too short he will regret it...but I will admit I was skeptical to get my 89's but now they are SOOO much fun, I couldn't even think of getting a smaller ski

Skied the 79's the last two days in waist deep pow/trees/groomers etc.. they ripped. I'm actually glad I didn't get the 89's. They wouldn't have fit in my car/the bus/the gondola.. it woulda been a pain the ass in that respect for sure.

But as far as skiing.. they are by far the BEST pow ski I have ever ridden. So amazing.

Yeah, my 189's feel pretty short when I'm skiing and they're at +4. Almost makes me wish they'd made a 199 or something; if you're over 180, like to ski hard, and are set on Seths you're kind of SOL.
