Heel pain help

hey, hi, hello! for the past few seasons i've been having heel pain lasting up to weeks after landing hard on my left foot. when i went to the doctor a few years ago they said it was because my growth plate was growing at a different time than the rest of my foot, but i'm 17 now and my foot has stopped growing but the pain is still killing me and stopping me from going bigger. anyone experiencing something similar or could hook me up with some advice excluding gel soles? thanks, friends.

Do you currently use any form of custome footbed? If you don't start here. Having something firm will actually absorb more impact then something soft like a gel pad. It's a hard concept to grasp but it's true. A good footed will also surport the medial and lateral arches taking weight off te heel. Sidas are also now testing some very cool foams which have extra impact reduction propities. These foams can be built into the stabilisation of the footbed to reduce impacts.

So overall go see a good fitter and get your current boots looked at and see if they can be fitted better.

what's the fit like in your boots? It may be that there are some pressure points that are enhancing the pain. Maybe try a different pair for a day just to see if the same thing happens, and if it's not as bad go to a boot fitter?

You're new here, but just so everyone else is aware of it, we made a boot-fitting thread to help gather all of these questions into one happy place:https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/768122/

Please use this as we have probably already answered your question and you can reference it later on should you need it.

Cheers!
