fuck... today i was throwing 180's and 5's and slowly my heels started to throb like bitches... Then i overshot and they hurt so bad i had to go and sit out... I guess it's from landing foreward switch but u cant really get around doing that... It just makes me balance better when i land but it hurts like a biatch... I have Rossi B2 boots brand new... Do u guys ever have that problem? I stuffed gauze sponges with ducktape in the heels and it helped... But is there any better ideas?

Try adjusting the angle of your boots, or how you strap them up. I used to get shin bang so I basically left my top 2 buckles super loose and tightened the power strap. It's a good idea because the power strap will flex and definetly give you less pain on the shins if you land backseat or are skiing super heavy powder.

what I do is keep my boots (rossi race boots, and stiff as hell) tight enough to be on my leg without having to flex, but not too tight. The power strap is key. If you want, you can get this replacement power strap called a 'booster strap', which is basically an elastic power strap used mostly by racers, but are nice for softening those landings a bit.

sometimes they're related though. just make sure to crank up the two buckles over your foot, because it stuff slips around in there, you're fucked.

gotta get you landings dialed, I had bruised heels for all of last year. Ice the shit out of em and they go away faster, but once its bruised its really hard to get it to go away without taking a couple weeks off unless you just want to do turns, no jumps or rails. but yeah dial you landings and absorb impact with you knees. and think about landing on your toes. you want actuallybut it seems to take some pressure off the heels

WHERE ARE YOU HOIET

i got heel bang last year pretty bad and it took a couple months for it to recover fully. but that was because i overshot a landing so it doesn't happen usually

I used to have heel problems in 6th-7th grade, and that would usually end my park sessions a lot faster. It was hell, I'm so glad all that heel pain shit went away..

only prob with putting gauze or something under your foot is it will throw off your balance. Try getting some Dr. Scholls Gel insoles. That way you adjust your whole foot (not just your heel), and it will provide some padding and shock absorption as well.

yeah but it's not the bottom of my heel... it's like the achiles tendon and up from there.... Not the bottom but tha back... it's like the reverse of shin bang...

had that happen before to me, but it was a bit different (from the sounds of it). When it happened to me, I was in a Salomon boot and when I put my foot beds in, it lifted me just enough that the heel pocket rubbed around my achilles raw. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to fix it and keep my footbeds, so I gave the boots to my brother.

If there are any good shops/bootfitters by you, they might be able to blow out the heel pocket (top side) a bit and see if that helps.

I dont get heel bang, but I get mad whiplash when I knuckle it.

yeah but it's not rubbing.. it's lack of padding.. like the back of my heels actually like cracks against the back of my boot,.
