Heavenly............

Tahoe in the winter is obivously awesome, but IMO opinion its the summer time that makes you never want to leave
 
ski run area is nice if you dont have a car a prefer the meyers end of town, can ride my bike right out of my house to awesome downhilling and bouldering within minutes, a little quiter and nicer area as a whole too, but you kind of need a car for the winter, the summer in tahoe is paradise, endless sun and perfect temps its amazing.
 
The saying is come for the winter stay because of the summer. Ski Run is pretty legit but there are lots of other good places to live. Bluego bus line is pretty good, free during the season if you work at Heavenly.

summer is amazing. bus is not so great unless you live very close to the mountain along the shuttle routes. but not a problem in summer because you can bike everywhere. For year round recreation you cant really beat south lake.
 
truer words were never spoken... tallac is a short ride from south lake for banger hiking, mtb trails every where, wakeboarding, longboarding, paddleboarding, casinos, nevada's loose alcohol laws... they're all in walking distance
