Heavenly park

we're opening a park tomorrow on comet, come shred...

we have muti-runs and a park what other resort in tahoe has that...? none!

BReal is where it's at right now. That's just waaay too much to spend for a day at Heavenly, especially when you're fighting for space on groomed, man-made snow. Sorry man, that's just reality.

Actually it is $61, lots of terrain open though compared to Boreal (I actually felt like I got a real run in), lots of baypers, the park was well mantained but not much (3 rails, butter box, two flat boxes) to do, really fun though and nobody in the park. There were a few twins out, if you saw a dude with a camo DC suit that was me, shout out next time. But honestly, I'll probably be at Boreal next time. $61 is redick! I'm glad I brought my PBJ and granola, cuz my homies dropped $20 each for lunch. Thank GOD for this storm and Sierra opening soon.

I was the "other Homie" that dropped $15+ on lunch! That is ridiculous. but props to the Park Crew who threw down. Had a great time.

baypers!

i like it.

i rep the bay though. yay to the a, home of those grapey grape grapes.

yaaaaaaaadadameannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

yeah we just rebuilt the park last night way better flow, 2 ines and a table too... yeah still alot of citiots on the week end but great during the week and now with more feaure and runs open its not that bad. as far as the 2 tables up un the cali side.... yeah that person doesn't have a clue. as soon as we open cali we're goin to try our hardest to get a 2nd park up.

thats just what i heard from a park worker.

there is no snow on cali side so im not to worried about that opening any time soon.

yeah no worres... but there is snow on the cali side just not the lower mtn. probably open cali this comin weekend if the weather holds out for us..? and if we do, we might have something up there too.... have to wait and see.

opening cali side this weekend... hopefully if we get some snow friday night we'll have some else up on the cali side for the weekend.

Glad to hear ppl are stoked on the set up and flow, we're doing the best we can with the limited snow... but seems like were doing the best for snow compared to all the other tahoe resorts. tpc

hows the snow looking right now at heavenly? i'm making my first trip up to tahoe on the 17th-21st. hoping for some good snow as ill be skiing heavenly during these days.

is there/when will there be a park on the california side. the gondola ride is too long after classes during the week, cuts out my shred time! comet park is pretty fun though.

zi was told today they were going to try and get a jump line and a rail line in where the super stupid pipe was last year.

Yeah that is true, the old pipe area just didn't work for pitch, plus that stupid tree island!(plus not going to build a F^%kn24ft pipe..more like 20ft this year) so we're movin it. yeah it will be a park good sz 3-4pack of jumps and a sweet dual rail line with some other stuff too...

cali park- well we're trying update soon... sorry I know the gondola takes forever..have to ride it each mornin, maybe by next weekend? but on the positve side I'm glad ppl are having fun in Comet and we are going to try to rebuild it tomorrow eve and add some more stuff... so come check it out wed on..

hopefully there will be more snow after the new year and a better park. I was at heavenly for 3 days with friends this week and the park was very weak, just random boxes/rails. only part i actually liked to mess around on wasnt even on the park itself, hit this one tiny kicker that led into a small drop over a plastic protector thing right before the actual park.

overall though the weather was nice so i had some okay runs on the normal trails on california side.

lol.. u mean that 2ft jump, maybe u should learn to ride before u put down a park and my guys hard work, or better yet maybe it was a good thing you didn't ride it... we didn't have to call patrol to come get your broke ass. and random... well obvioously you don't know your left and right... cause there a 2 lines going into the stall then back into 2 lines...

but we did add a spin stall the other day and are adding 2 more boxes tonight, and will be add about 3-5 more advanced feature by the weekend. And hopefully some snw features... if this storm gives us the snw. we are also going to be opening another park or 2 by mid week...

with jumps

why are you getting butt hurt over what i said about the park? just saying how I felt it was at this point in time. yes i saw the two lines. one on the left with 2 tiny boxes that were about 1 foot off the air, right side with a downsloped rail, etc... IMO the stuff was pretty small. so just because I say something is small you assume I can't ride? LOL and yea i'm very broke, so broke I couldn't afford my new karma's and fks bindings this season....

oh and that drop is a little more than 2 ft, I stood next to it my first time down that run to check it out and it was a good amount above my head (i'm 6"3' btw) and you had to get some air to clear the cover thing. My friend took a video of me going off it and landing switch, i'll see if i can upload it in a bit for you.

no what you said was very weak and random... not small. yeah thats all we can set up right now 2ft tall boxes, no snw! you guys are lucky to even have a park up... if it was up to upper management there wouldn't have been one for the past month... the only reason there is one is cause we fought for one. well seeing I'm 5'7 and can ollie that thing.. I don't think its 6'3... that or I'm superman and can fly. don't knock something until you know the facts. we are tryin to add as many feaures as we can but you have to have snw to do it... have to have a landing, jump, podium,etc.. takes alot to do this. and with minimal snw and the mtn not making us snw its hard to do. our crew busts their ass to have this park and to keep it maintained, things like knocking it before you know the facts piss me off and would piss off other park builders. so word of advise... don't say anything until u know your facts.

oh and obviously u miss what I said... "call patrol to come get your broke ass" as in got hurt from not knowing how to ride... was just giving u shit.

Shut the hell up, if you are so Cool that you have to film a stupid drop over a snowmake than rather be in the park thats there go back home and dont come back to heavenly. Maybe if you worked a little in your life you would understand how much it takes to do any thing at a ski resort. Also you need to leard how to ride if you thought that was a alot of air, go ride kirkwood and drop some real cliffs pussy.

fuck you. I am just saying how I felt the park was, i'm not going to lie and say it was an awesome park right now. I know there isn't alot of snow, I know it takes alot of effort to build a park, etc.... don't get all bent out of shape when I state my opinion on something. you can remove the sand from your vagina now.

kirkwood park is better than anywhere in Tahoe right now IMHO

alpine and boreal are rocking it pretty good, but with three jumps, a wallride, a slew of rails and boxes to go along with the epic natty terain, you cant beat the wood

i realize that the park is lacking but you clearly ingnored the fact that it is hard to build a park with out snow and that you just need to find somewhere else to ski.

^thats sick that kwood has a few tables , i will have to go pick my pass up.

I don't belive kirkwood has any jumps yet.. my close friend is a main person there and says the park blows.. but i don't know haven't been there yet.. screw the 45mins to get there.

as far as the Heavenly park yeah its hard to build something out of nothing but we are tryin our best. we added a table with 2 take off's last night 20 & 35ft. we also added a 30ft flat down step down box too and will be adding 1-2 more features tonight. dual C box and something else... probably c rail..? High roller is open for ski through.. no features trying to get the snw settle in there so we can build later. we will probable open groove or powder bowl park this week on the cali side... just not alot of snw. so depends on snowmakin and what they blow for us...? thanks to the ppl that are having fun in the park and being understanding to what we are face with. TPC

heavenly sucks and always will, thats unless you like skiing with all the tourists that stay at the casinos and do not belong on the slopes.

not to mention that they get the least amount of snow out of all the areas on the lake.

but then again, i'm just more at home @ sierra when on the south shore.

lol.. true. yeah if u don't like tourists go ride back country cause EVERY resort has them. that and that fuun cause heavenly has the MOST open terrian right now and the 3rd largest snowmakin in the US.... fun yeah the least amount of snw...hahaha.

were supposed to get some snow this week and if that happens you'll see some big changes!! we tried to add the dual c boxes..not enough snow right now the tables took up most ot it for the moment.. but we WILL be adding more stuff soon! Thanks for the positive feedback and support. TPC

just rebuilt comet park... much biger and we are adding more in the next few days. also wait to see what we have for later this comin week... :)

This really sucks. The California Threads always seemed to skip the piss and vinegar. I guess NS can't get away from it. You guys at Heavenly have your work cut out for you. You're fighting a reputation of a mountain not very committed to parks and pipe. You will will also find yourselves constantly fighting the "very little snow" battle. Nothing really starts popping off at Heavenly till around March. That's all good because the Soldiers camp puts together some dank shit. Easy on the California NS crowd. Lots of Alpine-lovers here.

Once all the tables are in and the tech rails are up on high roller is really pretty fun but your right as soon a SSS moves in its SICK! the night park was sick too after the log jam. The channel gap was the best part.
